Character Analysis: N52/Rebirth/Infinite Frontier Superman

Background

Similar to most versions of Superman, this version hails from Krypton and originally had the birth name Kal-el. After his birth Krypton was on a road to annihilation, which his father Jor-el tried to avert.


Ultimately Jor-El and his wife sent Kal-el away from Krypton before its destruction. Kal-el later arrived on the planet Earth and was found/adopted by a family known as the Kents.


In the N52 timeline Superman’s parents died in a car crash when he was 18.


Clark then became a journalist at the Daily Planet. Then became a superhero named Superman using his inherited Kryptonian powers.


Superman later dies during a confrontation with Vandal Savage. 


This Superman then later was somewhat revived and had his history merged with the history of his Post-Crises counterpart. Thus creating the “Rebirth Superman”.


Following the events of Dark Knights Metal and the advent of the infinite frontier all events in DC are supposedly soft cannon to a single timeline. In addition to John Kent, Clark adopted the Kryptonains Otho-ra and Osule-ra.


Timeline revisions

After the events of Doomsday Clock Mr. Manhattan changed Superman’s timeline to prevent the death of his Earth parents and re-introduce his career as Superboy.
