Background
Goku’s backstory in Evolution is a bit different than his manga/anime counterparts. In this version of the story he’s a “normal '' high school student who was raised by his Grandfather Gohan. He was given the 4 star Dragon ball on his birthday by Gohan, and was corralled into a quest to collect the other 7 due to prophecy predicting a global disaster if they weren't collected by the time of a nearby solar eclipse. Over the course of this adventure Goku allies himself with this universe's versions of characters like Bulma, Chi Chi, Yamcha, Roshi.

The main villain of the movie is Piccolo, an alien from the planet Namek. It’s stated that Picallo attacked the Earth 2,000 years ago with his disciple Oozaru, but was sealed away by ancient masters using the Mafuba technique. Picallo currently wants to collect the Dragon Balls so he can use them to wish for world domination. Towards the end of the movie it’s revealed that Goku himself was his partner Oozuru. Goku supposedly came to Earth on a meteor and his human appearance is just a disguise. Goku ultimately refutes joining Piccolo and then uses the Dragon Ball’s wish to revive Roshi, who died during their confrontation.

Airbending techniques
Shadow crane strike
A levitating motion followed by a powerful punch that forces the opponent back with a gush of air.

Oozaru transformation
Goku’s giant ape form in this continuity. It’s smaller than the OG great ape form depicted in the original Dragon Ball manga. This version is also triggered by an eclipse rather than a full moon. The form's increased power was eventually integrated into Goku’s normal human base.
