Character Analysis: Obi-Wan(Feat Hero)

I have decided to include additional hashtags to feats and information regarding Star Wars Canon. That being Obi-Wan is probably the most consistent character throughout all of his appearances. “Movies” refers to the main six numbered movies, what are generally considered the primary source.

“Legends” of course refers to the old Expanded Universe, from this I will be using comics and books that occur between and after the numbered movies, for example the Dark Horse comics, Thrawn Trilogy, and Legacy of the Force novels, but not alternate timelines or universes such as “Star Wars Infinities” which aren’t even canon to the original EU (For example, compare Dragonball Heroes and the video games to GT, some are “less canon” than others). I will also not use Legends Force abilities that Obi-Wan doesn’t have or post-RotJ feats that he doesn’t scale to.

“Semi-canon” refers to novelizations of movies or guidebooks, deleted scenes, or otherwise supplementary materials and stories that can fit into the continuity with little to no contradictions.

“Disney” refers to the current run of movies and supplementary books and comics that are of course marketed by Disney.

Background and Experience

Roughly a decade before the Phantom Menace, Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jin was observing the development of the Younglings, and would soon decide which one he would take as his Padawan. It was there that he met young Obi-Wan Kenobi, who was highly gifted and advanced much faster than his classmates. Being a strict traditionalist, and believing that modern Jedi had strayed too far from the ancient ways and involved themselves too much in Galactic Republic politics, Qui-Gon nearly refused to take Obi-Wan as his apprentice. Over the years he proved himself however, and the two formed an almost father-son bond.

Uncharacteristic of most Jedi, Kenobi had a prolific romantic life, having several love interests such as Duchess Satine of Mandalore, whom he nearly left the Jedi Order for. Obi-Wan was also brash and sarcastic, often talking back to his master, much to his annoyance. After his tragic and sudden death at the hands of Darth Maul, he vowed to follow his practical teachings and become the most by-the-books Jedi in the Order. He quickly advanced as a Jedi Knight, taking and raising Anakin as his Padawan, who reminded him of himself at a younger age, and he believed he could shape him into a fine Jedi that Qui-Gon would be proud of.

He rose quickly again to the rank of Jedi Master, being one of the youngest Masters on the Council.

He has been trained directly by both Qui-Gon and Yoda, as well as Count Dooku before he turned to the Dark Side. He has trained the most respected and powerful Force users in the Star Wars canon, such as Anakin, Ahsoka Tano (briefly), and Luke Skywalker.

After believing he failed Anakin and the crippling blow of Order 66, Obi-Wan never returned to the Jedi Temple, choosing to stay on Tatooine in order to protect the young Luke not only from physical threats like the Empire and the sand people, but also from the fate of his father and former apprentice.

Lightsaber Dueling Styles

-Form 1: Schii-Cho

A highly simplistic and traditional style of weaponized combat based on fencing. Holding the lightsaber outstretched and fully extended in a defensive stance allowed them to keep opponents at bay. Also known for its wide, sweeping motions.

-Form 2: Makashi
Makashi practitioners held their lightsabers closer to their bodies, focusing more on shifting weight and balance, and making their opponents disarming them more difficult. It also has a sub-form that allows for dual-wielding (see Asaaj Ventress).

-Form 3: Soresu
A form most famously used by Obi-Wan Kenobi, his most favored style. Soresu takes the strengths of the previous two and combines them into one resilient fighting style. It allows for rapid movement while also minimizing expenditure of stamina.

-Form 4: Ataru
An aggressive, yet accurate and precise combat form. It requires the use of acrobatic maneuvers such as leaps and flips, and is most notably used by Master Yoda.

-Form 5: Shien and Djem So
Form 5 included two Lightsaber dueling forms developed side by side. Shein was designed for defensive stances, blocks and deflects most useful for defending against long range attacks such as blaster bolts. Djem So was characterized by straightforward and powerful strikes and counterattacks designed for ending fights quickly. Most famously used by Anakin Skywalker.

Form 6: Niman
An all-around, focused form that offers no specific advantage or disadvantage. Form 6 practitioners were encouraged to implement Force-based attacks in conjunction with Lightsaber strikes.

The Seventh form, Vapaad, is a specialized Force-augmented fighting style that can technically be considered a Force ability, so I’ll list it in the abilities section.

Arsenal

Lightsaber
“An elegant weapon, from a more civilized time.”

Designed after the Force Sabers and Proto-Sabers that came before, the Lightsaber is instantly recognizable as the weapon of a Jedi, both in the Star Wars universe and in reality. Deactivated, it is a lightweight metal hilt that can be ignited to release a stream of concentrated and suspended plasma, powered by Kyber crystals which act as a prism for the Force. Effectively, Lightsabers are powered by the Force itself, and the heat, length, and thickness of the blade are dependant on the user. It is because of this that Jedi are encouraged to allow their crystals to choose them and construct their own Lightsabers, forming a Force Bond with the crystals and creating a more effective weapon.

Because of the blade of a Lightsaber being hotter than the surface of the sun and each edge being a cutting point thanks to its roundness, the blade can cut through most anything, but it does have limitations. It cannot cut through the hyper-dense Beskar Mandalorian metal, the hide of a Zillo Beast, or the blade of another Lightsaber. #Movies #Semi-canon #Disney

Rebreather
A small breathing device that allows Jedi of various races to breathe in atmospheres not suited for their physiology. It can be used to breathe in toxic gas or underwater unhindered, as seen in the Phantom Menace. #Movies #Semi-canon

Clone War General Armor
Durable armor plating and padding Obi-Wan wore throughout the Clone Wars, built to withstand heavy blaster fire and blunt force. #Disney #Semi-canon

Jedi Robes
Traditional Jedi robes. Used to blend in and conceal his identity or protect his body from harsh environments such as the desert of Tatooine. Can also be used to conceal and carry devices such as communicators, holographic projectors, Republic Credits, lightsaber repair kits, and food rations. #Movies #Semi-canon #Disney

Abilities

The Force

“The Force is what gives a Jedi his power. It’s an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us and penetrates us; it binds the galaxy together.”

The Force, specifically the Living Force, encompasses the entire Star Wars universe and is imbued in all living things. Those who are Force-sensitive have a strong enough connection to the Force that they can harness it to a degree that they can manipulate certain aspects of existence.

Force abilities depicted in the movies usually don’t deviate very far from sensing, mental and emotional manipulation, and moving objects with the mind or hand gestures, but these are mere parlor tricks compared to the highest capabilities of the Force, as it is described as what binds matter together and described to be the very fabric of reality. The EU allowed the full potential of the Force to be demonstrated, as they were not bound by the same plot elements or visual effects limitations in the films. #Movies #Semi-canon #Disney #Legends

Force Push
The user extends their hand and manifests the Force in front of them to blast opponents or objects away with concussive force. The effectiveness of the technique is dependant on the user’s bond with the Force, and the hand gesture is not necessarily needed as there existed alien Jedi and Sith with strange biological features and Force users who had their limbs amputated such as Darth Vader who are still capable of using it. #Movies #Disney #Semi-canon

Force Grip
Allows the user, as the name would suggest, to grip a being or object with the Force and move it similarly to Telekinesis. Again, the size and weight of the object that the user can lift or move is dependant on the strength of the user’s connection to the Force. #Movies #Legends

Force Crush
A more violent variant on Force Grip that collapses and condenses the target. #Semi-canon #Disney #Legends

Force Sensing
A Force-sensitive can peer into the Force in order to gain awareness of events and surroundings. It can be used to sense danger and react accordingly similar to that of Spider-Sense. It can also be used to sense the emotions and intent of others, demonstrated by Sidious as he often used it against Vader to tell if he intended to kill him. As Obi-Wan quoted in A New Hope, “It was as if millions of voices were crying out in terror, and were suddenly silenced” when he felt the Death Star’s destruction of Alderaan, it does not have to be consciously activated, though doing so increases its potency. A being also does not have to be alive or carry the Force with them to be sensed, as it can also be used on droids. #Movies #Semi-canon

Precognition
The Force can also grant its users visions of future events. These visions can also be forced on others such as the Force Vision Palpatine gave to Anakin to manipulate him in Revenge of the Sith.

It also has its applications in combat:

Obi-Wan and Anakin predicting each other’s next move and readjusting

It is also described by Qui-Gon Jin as “Jedi reflexes”, and he explains it allows the user to react to an action or event a few seconds ahead of time. #Movies

Tutaminis
Tutaminis refers to both an aspect of Jedi philosophy and the technique of absorbing and projecting energy. It can be used to absorb Force attacks from opponents, but it can also be used to absorb non-Force energy like blaster bolts, or even, in rare cases, the energy of a lightsaber blade. Yoda can be seen using this technique against Palpatine to catch and project back his Force Lightning. #Movies #Legends

Force Sheild
Self-explanatory. Like the other Force abilities, its potency relies on its user’s strength in the Force. It can be used in conjunction with the Force-absorbing properties of Tutaminis. #Legends #Semi-canon

Thought Shield
A mental barrier that obscures one’s thoughts and feelings. Can be trained to non-Force sensitives to shield from telepathic and empathic probing, but it is especially effective with the Force. Jedi are taught this ability at a young age and become more experienced with it with time. #Legends #Semi-canon

Shatterpoint
"I can see every flaw. All I have to do is pour the Force into the cracks…"

-Cade Skywalker

A Force ability that requires immense focus in order to change one’s perception to detect weak points in people and objects and project the Force in those precise locations. Doing so causes the object to fragment into pieces much more easily than it would with excessive blunt force. It can also be used on living beings to re-open old scars and wounds. It can also be used to find mental and skill-related weaknesses. Obi-Wan uses this against Anakin in the Revenge of the Sith novelization to find kinks in his defenses. #Disney #Semi-canon #Legends

Force Movement/Force Speed
A Force ability that allows a significant increase in physical capabilities, particularly agility. It allows the user to leap further and higher than normal. Yoda most notably uses it to compensate for his old age and small size and uses it in conjunction with Form 4 Lightsaber dueling. Force Speed significantly increases the user’s speed, as the name would suggest. A Jedi using these abilities during battle is said to appear to be in multiple places at once wielding as much as ten lightsabers due to the afterimages they create. #Movies #Semi-canon

Jedi Mind Trick
A persuasion tactic used to plant ideas in one’s head. One need simply utter a phrase or a suggestion to cause someone to believe something. It can be considered a mild form of mind control or hypnotism. Weak-willed individuals are more prone to this ability, and such targets can become delirious and disoriented. (The Stormtrooper who hit his head in the doorway in A New Hope was the same guy Obi-Wan used the Mind Trick on.) #Movies #Semi-canon

Battle Meditation
A technique that bolsters allies and allows them additional focus during battle, while also instilling fear into and weakening enemy forces. This can backfire if stopped suddenly, as it can cause delirium and incoordination on the allies its used on, so it must be eased off slowly if utilized. #Movies #Semi-canon

Force Healing
Accelerates the body’s natural healing processes. It cannot regenerate things such as lost limbs, but it can mend broken bones and damaged organs in short periods of time. It can be used on someone else or on the self. There is also a variant of Force Healing that heals against toxins known as Detoxify Poison. Obi-Wan can be seen using this when he finds Luke after being attacked by the Tusken Raiders. #Movies #Semi-canon

Force Scream
An ability used to amplify one’s own voice, can be used to intimidate opponents and knock them off balance. Kenobi uses this to imitate the roar of a Krayt Dragon to fend off the Tusken Raiders. #Movies #Legends

Force Projection/Illusion
Casts an illusion that can interact with objects but is intangible to those who attack it. Luke’s Force Projection is so especially powerful that he can manifest a lightsaber that works as effectively as a real one, and those who use the Force to locate him will sense his projection rather than his body. Obi-Wan however, is incapable of the latter two. #Disney #Legends

Force Concealment
Also known as Force Shroud, Force Stealth, or Bury Presence, Force Concealment allows a Force-sensitive to hide their presence, making them difficult to detect by both Force users and non Force users. Palpatine used this ability to hide himself being a Sith Lord from the Jedi Council for over thirty years, and Luke used this during his confrontations with Vader. #Movies #Semi-canon

Vapaad
The Seventh form of Lightsaber Combat, developed by the Jedi Master Mace Windu. Technically also a Force ability. Vapaad was named after creatures that would catch their prey with appendages so blindingly fast they were impossible to count. As such, it is an incredibly fast, dangerous, and deadly fighting style that channels a moderate amount of the Dark Side. It is most effective against those strong in the Dark Side, as it fed off their power and further increased the speed, power, and aggressiveness of the user. In essence, as a Force ability, it can be described as a combination of Force Movement, Force Speed, Tutaminis and Force Drain, essentially increasing momentum and speed as the opponent is drained. Mace Windu when using Vapaad against Palpatine was described in the Revenge of the Sith novelization as “an oblate sphere of purple fire, with dozens of blades attacking from every angle”. Kenobi is capable of replicating this ability, though he has not mastered it on the same level as Mace. #Movies #Semi-canon

Force Ghost
“Strike me down and I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.”

-Obi-Wan to Vader

Upon death, a Jedi fades seemingly into nothingness, becoming one with the Living Force. Not many Jedi were familiar with this technique, nor did the Sith who failed to achieve serenity due to their path on the Dark Side, despite their many efforts to achieve immortality. Similar to Oneness, one’s being can manifest as a physical representation of the Living Force, only without the physical form. It allows Jedi to communicate with and influence others, as well as create projections. They also possess power over natural forces, as Force Ghost Yoda demonstrated by summoning a bolt of lightning from the sky. #Movies #Disney

“The High Ground”

Yes, this is actually real and not a joke, to an extent (one might say, from a certain point of view).

Though this technique has no official name, it is a term coined by Obi-Wan himself in the oft-memed scene in Episode III. Obi-Wan is a master duelist, often considered the most skilled combatant in the entire Jedi Order. That extends far beyond the physical applications of combat. He tends to predict and plan out entire confrontations, to win before he even ignites his lightsaber, if it even comes to that. Like a high-level fighting game player, he reads and baits his opponents into the exact positions he needs for a precise and decisive counterattack to end the fight quickly. He first discovered he could do this as just a mere Padawan in his first confrontation with Darth Maul, where a single split-second decision gained him the upper hand from the brink of death. He most famously used this technique in his final battle with Anakin, and against General Grievous, disarming and defeating him singlehandedly where countless other Jedi failed. In his final battle with Darth Maul on Tatooine, he baited him into using the same technique he used to kill Qui-Gon, and in one move he killed Maul before he had a chance to realise what happened. #Movies #Disney

Weaknesses

HK-47 explains in depth the weaknesses of a Jedi: https://youtu.be/UPeI4mX8Nus

Most of these likely will not apply to Obi-Wan, at least not in most instances as he has trained against such tactics, which were employed by Jedi killers such as Count Dooku and Grievous. Therefore, they might be less affective against Obi-Wan in particular, especially since he survived Order 66, which implemented all of these exploitations at once.

He has been captured by Count Dooku and the Separatists before as well, but he has since become much more experienced.

Character Analysis: Kakashi (feat Grand)

Background

His mother dying when he was very young, Kakashi was raised by his father, the legendary Jonin known as Konoha’s White Fang, Sakumo Hatake. Kakashi inherited much of his father’s skills as a ninja and was a prodigy from birth, mastering many jutsu techniques quite quickly. Upon entering the Ninja Academy, the young Hatake made his way through his school life with flying colors, but it wasn’t long before tragedy struck. When his father refused to complete an extremely important mission that would have cost his teammates’ lives, he was disgraced around the village as a failure and ultimately took his own life.

Continuing to hone his ninja abilities, Kakashi graduated the academy at just five-years old, earning him the status of Genin and placing him on a team with fellow students Rin Nohara and Obito Uchiha under the guidance of Minato Namikaze. While many of their missions were a success, it was difficult for Rin and Obito to work with Kakashi due to his prodigious nature and constant belief in following the rules of the shinobi, especially for Obito who had already been at odds with Kakashi’s behaviour. Regardless, these many successes allowed him to participate in and pass the Chunin exams at 6 by defeating his long-time rival and best friend, Might Guy.

Kakashi would later become a Jonin at age 12 and lead Obito and Rin on a mission during the Third Great Ninja War. Unfortunately, during this mission Rin was kidnapped and Kakashi lost his left eye. While saving Rin from the enemy, Obito sacrificed himself to save Kakashi, having his right-side crushed by a boulder. As a gift before passing on, Obito granted Kakashi a transplantation of his left Sharingan eye so that he could see the future through his friend. Obito made Kakashi promise to protect Rin, but that promise unfortunately didn’t last very long. Rin became the Jinchurriki of the Three Tailed Turtle, and in order to save her village, she sacrificed her life by forcing herself into the way of one of Kakashi’s attacks during a battle with Kirigakure ninjas.

Traumatised by this event and nearly contemplating suicide at certain points, Kakashi was assigned by the Fourth Hokage to become a part of the ANBU, Konoha’s black ops units, where he led many assassination missions and eventually watched and protected Minato’s wife Kushina Uzumaki when she was pregnant. The trials and tribulations of Kakashi’s life continued after his sensei’s death, but he was eventually relieved of his ANBU duty by the Third Hokage when he decided that it simply was not the place for someone with Kakashi’s good nature.

After some encouragement from Might Guy, he was eventually assigned to Genin teams from the academy. After failing many of these teams, he was eventually assigned to be the mentor to Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, and Sakura Haruno, and was instrumental in their development as shinobi and their team’s victory in the Fourth Great Shinobi War.

Equipment

Kunai
Kakashi’s most commonly used weapon, with which he is experienced in both forehand and backhand grip. Kunai are short blades which can be used for close-quarters combat and be thrown like projectiles. Kakashi can also attach thin string to them to help him swing around the battlefield.

He also seems to have a habit of spinning them before use.

Minato gave Kakashi a set of kunai called the Flying Thunder God Kunai as a gift for becoming a Jonin. They had a unique, three-bladed design on them, as well as special seals attached to them which allowed Minato to immediately transport to their location via his space-time ninjutsu.

Shuriken
Your classic ninja throwing stars, used to expose and hit weak points from a distance rather than to kill.

Makibishi
Tiny spikes which are used to reduce an opponent’s mobility and lead them in a certain direction.

Smoke Bombs
A basic ninja tool which is used to create a smokescreen, either for sneak attacks or as cover to get away.

Chain
Kakashi has been seen using a weighted chain in his fight with Pain, which is good for long range attacks. While he doesn’t bust it out often so it’s difficult to know how good he is at it, he is likely quite proficient given his prodigious nature, status of Jonin, and he said he beat Might Guy in a contest with it before (along with bow and arrow).
White Light Chakra Sabre

A memento from Kakashi’s late father, it can be infused with chakra to power up strikes and leave behind a white trail of light afterwards. It was destroyed during Kakashi’s battle with Kakko, but the anime shows that it was later repaired (episode 349).

Abilities

Chakra
In the world of Naruto, there exists a form of life energy called chakra which can be harnessed to achieve superhuman abilities. The most basic of these abilities include walking on water, accelerated healing, walking up and down vertical surfaces, standing on ceilings, and sealing monsters. Being a form of energy however, chakra comes in limited supplies, and the more powerful the technique, the more chakra that is required in order for it to function properly.

Ninjutsu
Ninjutsu is the art of manipulating one’s chakra to perform elemental attacks. This manipulation is done in two ways. First, there is shape manipulation, which as one may expect, controls the shape and movement of the jutsu. Second is the nature manipulation, which controls the physical properties of the jutsu, i.e what element the attack is based on. Many of these ninjutsu also require hand seals in order to be activated.

There are a total of five elements available for nature manipulation, and Kakashi has learned jutsu techniques from each of them, though his bread and butter nature affinity is the lightning style jutsu.

Lightning Release
Chidori

A technique which Kakashi created himself upon failing to combine his lightning nature with the Rasengan. Instead, he gathers high amounts of lightning in his hand and strikes his opponent with it. He can also channel it through his kunai to increase its piercing damage as well as make it act as a projectile.

The Chidori allows for amazing speed, and Kakashi managed to take out over a dozen Shadow Clones the first time he used the technique, but the drawback on this is that it causes the user to experience tunnel vision and struggle with perceiving counterattacks or anything outside their immediate line of sight. Luckily for Kakashi, this problem was negated when he gained the Sharingan. With this, Kakashi’s Chidori has been nicknamed the “Lightning Cutter” (Raikiri) after he cut through a literal bolt of lightning with the jutsu.

Lightning Hound
Kakashi creates a lightning strike in the shape of a canine which moves at high speeds towards an opponent. It is connected to Kakashi to help him control its movement.

Purple Electricity
Kakashi developed this technique during his time as Hokage when he lost his ability to effectively use Chidori after the Fourth Great Ninja War. Lucky for him, the Purple Electricity technique works extremely similarly to it, as it can be used as a concentration of lightning that Kakashi can hit his opponent with while not suffering the tunnel vision drawback, as well as in the form of a projectile and omni-directional current.

Lightning Style: Shadow Clone
Kakashi creates a Shadow Clone out of lightning. It still operates as a normal Shadow Clone while active, but when it is injured, it turns into an electric current which shocks the opponent who took it out.

Lightning Transmission
Kakashi and a Shadow Clone form a rod of lightning between them which can slice through an opponent or even wrap them up.

Fire Release
Great Fireball Technique
Kakashi spews a giant fireball from his mouth which is hurled at opponents to burn them to a crisp.

Earth Release
Hiding Like a Mole Technique
Kakashi digs underground to hide himself from his opponent. Despite being undeground, Kakashi seems fully aware of where he is and where his enemies above him are, so he has no trouble springing surprise attacks on them, known as the Rendering Earth Fang. He also uses this jutsu to perform the Double Suicide Decapitation Technique, where rather than busting his entire body out of the earth, he only bursts his hands out from underneath an opponent to grab their legs and pull them into the ground, typically leaving only their head visible and totally vulnerable due to their newfound inability to move.

Earth Wave Technique
Kakashi causes the surrounding earth to behave like a wave, bouncing up and down.

Earth-Style Wall
Kakashi manipulates the ground beneath him to shoot up and create a wall. It is primarily used as a defense mechanism, but Kakashi can also create multiple walls in order to box an opponent in.

Water Release
Great Waterfall Technique
Kakashi fires an enormous torrent of water at his foe.

Water Dragon Bullet Technique
Kakashi creates a stream of water in the shape of a dragon.

Water Formation Wall
Kakashi creates a wall of water as a defense mechanism.

Misc. Jutsu
Shadow Clone Technique
Possibly the most famous of Naruto jutsu is the Shadow Clone technique, in which the user creates a physical clone of themselves to help them fight or perform other tasks. The clones are only able to take a few hits before dispersing, and when they do the chakra and anything that the clones learned is returned back to its caster.

Most ninja are only capable of producing one or two Shadow Clones at a time due to the amount of chakra they take to make, and while this is typically how Kakashi uses them, he has managed to make well over a few dozen in the past. This is especially impressive since the only other person capable of making this many clones at once is Naruto, and that’s just because he has access to the Nine Tailed Fox’s chakra reserves.

Rasengan
A technique that was invented by Kakashi’s teacher, Minato Namikaze and modeled off of the Tailed Beast Bomb. Kakashi spins chakra in the palm of his hand to create a spiraling sphere of it, which can then be smashed into an opponent for a great amount of damage.

Summoning
Summoning jutsu allow ninja to call upon the aid of animals they’ve formed a pact with. In the case of Kakashi, he has made a pact with a pack of eight ninja hounds, or Ninken: Pakkun, Bull, Urushi, Shiba, Bisuke, Akino, Ūhei, and Guruko. They can be used to track down an opponent through scent and attack them with a vicious strength. In particular, they can utilize an Earth Release jutsu known as the Tracking Fang Technique, where they burrow underground, track their enemy through scent, and then burst out of the ground from underneath them.

Eight Gates
While this technique is usually thought of as the staple of Might Guy and his student Rock Lee, the bushy-browed sensei’s eternal rival Kakashi has managed to pick it up a bit as well. Not nearly to the extent that Guy has, as we’ve only ever seen Kakashi open up the first gate, the Gate of Opening. With this, Kakashi is removes any weights of mental inhibition and allows him to perform the Front Lotus technique, a Rock Lee signature move where he knocks a target into the air, wraps them in bandages, and then piledrives them into the dirt.

Eye Mind Reading
A technique that Kakashi unintentionally copied from a Lock ninja in the anime. It allows him to peer into a person’s mind and read their thoughts. We never see him actually use it, but we know that he is capable of it.

GenjutsuGenjutsu involves the user disrupting a target’s chakra flow to the brain, causing their senses to go awry and experience illusions, some of which are so potent that the target will genuinely believe that they’ve felt pain. It can also be used to force certain thoughts and actions on a target.

Demonic Illusion: Hell Viewing Technique
Kakashi makes his target see their greatest fear. This technique likely has different effects depending on how the target in question would react to their fear.

Taijutsu
Taijutsu is hand-to-hand combat. It does not rely on chakra and hand seals to be performed, though chakra can be used to increase the power of certain blows. The lack of hand seals also allows for much quicker attacks with a reliance on skill and speed rather than raw power. Kakashi in particular uses his incredible speed as a means of rushing his opponent so that they are stuck on the defensive, and to get away from the action once they start to gain an upper hand.
Compilation of Kakashi using Taijutsu.

One Thousand Years of Death
The most legendary of Konohagakure’s techniques, feared throughout the land for its incredible power. Kakashi forms the seal of the tiger, sticking out his index and middle fingers which represent this techniques absurd strength. Using his amazing speed, Kakashi moves behind an important and crouches down. Before they have time to react, he shoves his fingers in their butt, applies just the tiniest amount of chakra, and sends his opponent flying over the mountains. It has long-lasting effects on its victims, leaving them so traumatized that the mere implication of it can send them into a frenzy.

Dojutsu
SharinganThe Sharingan eyes are a Kekkai Genkai jutsu that are typically exclusive to the Uchiha Clan, with the notable exception of Kakashi of the Sharingan. Kakashi received his Sharingan from Obito Uchiha as a replacement for an eye he lost in battle. While he may only possess the one eye, he should reasonably be able to use all the abilities we have seen Sharingan users perform, albeit weaker versions of them. These abilities include:

Mangekyou Sharingan
Upon killing Rin and experiencing the traumatic death of a loved one, Kakashi’s Sharingan evolved into the Mangekyou Sharingan. Kakashi’s Mangekyou Sharingan in particular grants him access to a brand new ability.

Important Note: As stated before, Kakashi only has Obito’s left Sharingan eye, not both eyes. When Obito’s spirit returns from the afterlife during the final battle with Kaguya, his chakra merges with Kakashi’s own, granting the Copy Ninja dual Mangekyou Sharingan eyes and the use of a Susanoo construct. Some people make a case for this since it is the absolute strongest we see Kakashi, but it's probably non-standard and would likely be a very hard break of the unwritten “no outside help allowed” rule.

Kamui
Kamui is a space-time jutsu that allows Kakashi to a barrier space which sucks targets into another dimension. While he initially struggled with controlling the placement and size of the technique, he eventually became so adept with it that he could catch missiles out of the air and teleport objects as large as the Ten-Tailed Bijuu’s head.

Unfortunately, as Kakashi only possesses the left eye of this set of Mangekyou Sharingan, he can only use the long-range variant of Kamui, though he eventually learns to use it on himself.

Feats

Accomplishments
Power/Durability
So unfortunately, Kakashi doesn’t have much in the way of quantifiable, direct feats in these categories, particularly since he was powered up for a large portion of the Fourth Great Ninja War arc, was granted Obito’s dual Mangekyou Sharingan for the final battle against Kaguya, and we don’t get to see him fight to his fullest in Boruto. As such, in order to figure out where his maximum potential may lie, we will need to scale him to other characters in the series.

So where do we begin with this? Well, given that he was a prodigy Jonin at age 12 and later became Hokage in his 30s, I think it would be fair to scale him to other Kage level shinobi. Not Naruto and Sasuke by the start of the War arc, Madara, Kaguya, or anyone with those levels of power that is, but I believe characters such as the Legendary Sannin, Gaara, the Fourth Raikage, and anyone who would be beneath them are likely contenders. I would also still argue that even if Obito was holding back during their battle, Kakashi should still be somewhere in the same ballpark as him. He would have to be in order to have pierced Obito’s body as thoroughly as he did. The fact that they were both trained by Minato and possess one half of the same Mangekyou Sharingan eyes helps support this as well.

So what does that leave us with?
Speed
Note: This does not rely on the speed of a lightning bolt, and instead relies on the statements made by the Zetsu as to how long it would take to reach the ground. It might be a bit of a debatable point for some people, but I think it’s fair to utilize.

Weaknesses

Kakashi is an exceptionally skilled ninja of incredible power and skill, but his biggest weakness is his limited supplies of power. He has stated that he has a low supply of chakra and could only perform Chidori four times per day before he completely drained his reserves, though he has improved this number to an unspecified degree. Over-usage of his Sharingan will also leave him bedridden for days since it requires much more chakra for him to use than Uchiha such as Sasuke and Madara.

Character analysis: Megaman Volnutt(Feat Lousy)

Background

Originally called Mega Man Trigger, Volnutt was designed as a Purifier Unit (essentially a peace keeper) for a species of artificial humans known as 'Carbons', and the right-hand assistant to ‘The Master’, the last original human alive. Under The Master’s orders, Volnutt and him ventured out of the artificial planet Elysium to observe the Carbons. After seeing the lives the Carbons lead, The Master, now dying due to his body not being able to adapt to the atmosphere outside of Elysium, gave Volnutt one final request: Destroy the Master System, a device put in place to control the population of carbons.

Volnutt attempted to carry The Master's final request out, but was stopped by the System's overseer, Sera. Both of them stalemated one another, wiping away Volnutt's memories of his past. In the end, both were ultimately sealed by a 3rd robot, Yuna.

An unknown amount of time later, the planet would be flooded, and the carbons,

searching for new sources of energy, would begin mining for a crystal-like energy source known as refractors. The explorers who would brave these ruins came to be known as 'diggers’. Volnutt just so happened to be dug up by the digger, Barrell Caskett, who took Volnutt in, and raised him alongside his granddaughter, Roll. Becoming a digger himself, Volnutt would go on to uncover a multitude of ruins and refractor cores, stop the Bonne pirates multiple times, and eventually destroy the Master System, as The Master had asked him to do, prior to Volnutt's bad case of amnesia.

Important things to note…

-Several instruction manuals and wiki sources cite Volnutt’s age as 14, though they likely mean in physical appearance. Canonically, Volnutt has existed for at least several centuries, albeit, in a comatose state for most of it.

-In terms of physiology, Volnutt is the probably the incarnation of Mega Man that most closely resembles a ‘human’. He’s a Carbon, essentially an artificially made organic human that can replace or swap out segments of their body parts with mechanical devices. Think a mix of Replicants from Blade Runner with a more traditional cyborg. Volnutt himself seems to be mostly mechanical, however, given his swappable arm, and numerous mechanical attachments.

-Volnutt normally can only have one special weapon on-hand at a time. However, given it would be tremendously unfair to give him just one special weapon, and the fact that he can swap out special weapons on the fly in Tatsunoko VS. Capcom, I think it’s fair to give him access to all of his weapons for this fight.

Experience

-Despite only two mainline games under his belt, Volnutt has a share of experience facing a variety of foes. Prior to being discovered by Barrell, Volnutt was a Purifier Unit, and The Master’s right-hand assistant. His job was to eliminate threats to the Master System, so he should presumably have a fair share of combat experience handling different threats from Aberrant Units. He also battled and stalemated, Sera, the Mother Unit and Volnutt’s equal. He did lose his memories of these events, but later got them partially restored around the end of Mega Man Legends 2.

-After being re-discovered, Volnutt gained more experience as a digger exploring different ruins overrun with hostile machines.

-Throughout the Legends series he has also put a stop to the Bonne pirates multiple times. Stopping these ploys has required him to stop threats to the surrounding city, battle on ship, and in the sky.

-In Legends 2, this group of pirates expanded to an entire coalition of several pirate groups, all of whom Volnutt defeated.

-Volnutt of course put an end to Juno, a machine who upon awakening, attempted to purge all Carbons from the planet using the colossal space fortress, Eden.

Arsenal

Mega Buster: An arm cannon that can fire energy shots, the parameters of which can be modified with Buster Parts. These parts improve things like the power of shots, the rate of fire, and the range. In Tatsunoko VS. Capcom the weapon can also fire a charge shot.

Special Weapons

Shining Laser: Volnutt’s most powerful weapon. It fires a massive, focused laser, that pierces through most enemies, and can kill the most powerful entity in the original game (Juno) in just a few shots. All while possessing unlimited ammo.

Machine Buster: A rapid fire weapon that shoots gatling rounds in rapid succession.

Machine Gun Arm: Similar in function to the Machine Buster.

Spread Buster: A gun that shoots several explosive shots to cover a larger area of effect.

Active Buster: A notoriously powerful weapon from the original Mega Man Legends. Fires homing missiles in rapid succession, and has arguably the 2nd highest damage rate in the original Mega Man Legends.

Homing Missiles: A weapon with a similar function to the Active Buster, but with better homing capabilities.

Hyper Shell: An explosive gun arm that creates a modestly sized AOE explosion.

Hunter Seeker: Fires a drone that seeks out the enemy Mega Man has targeted with its own flurry of lasers.

Buster Cannon: A large cannon with great range that fires a focused energy shot.

Powered Buster: Fires energy shots with a slow rate of fire, but incredible power.

Blade Arm: Produces a close quarters energy sword.

Drill Arm: A melee drill primarily used to dig through stone, but that also substitutes as a melee weapon.

Splash Mine: Shoots proximity mines that detonate after a set amount of time, or upon contact.

Crusher: A mechanical arm that produces bombs that detonate upon contact.

Grenade Arm: A grenade launcher that fires off bombs that can ricochet off walls before detonating.

Reflector Arm: Similar in function to the Grenade Arm.

Grand Grenade: Fires more powerful explosives than the Grenade arm that detonate on contact.

Ground Crawler: A glorified bomchu that rolls on the ground, and explodes on contact.

Shield Arm: Produces an energy shield to protect Volnutt from attacks, and in Tatsunoko VS. Capcom, reflect projectiles.

Armor

Guard Helmet: The best helmet Volnutt typically has. Helps guard against knock-back, and allows him to instinctively roll out of danger upon taking damage.

Kevlar Jacket: Reduces damage taken by ¾.

Jump Shoes/Spring Shoes: Increase Volnutt’s jump height.

Jet Skates: Allows Volnutt to enter a low hover, and jet around at high speeds.

Hydro Jets: Similar to the Jet Skates, but used underwater.

Safety Shoes: Prevents Volnutt from being affected by hot, cold, and electrical surfaces.

Rebreather: Lets Volnutt breath underwater.

Miscellaneous Items & tools

Life Shield: An ever present shield on Volnutt’s body that absorbs the impact of various attacks.

Flame Barrier: Protects Volnutt from fire attacks.

Light Barrier: Protects Volnutt from lightning attacks.

Defense Shield: Gives Volnutt some degree of invulnerability for a set amount of time.

Chameleon Net: Makes Volnutt invisible for a period of time.

Alarm Lamp: A motion sensor of sorts that gauges when enemies are close by or not.

Abilities

-Beyond superhuman strength, speed, and durability, Volnutt’s powers and abilities stem primarily from his equipment and weaponry.

Feats

Strength & Destructive Power

-Drill can pulverize a large stone wall. (0.156 Tons of TNT)

-Can completely pulverize a large tank. (Between 0.167 Tons of TNT and 0.54 Tons of TNT)

-Can lift large stone blocks and machines. (9.58 U.S Tons)

-Created a large mech explosion (10.60 to 34.22 Tons of TNT)

Speed & Agility

-Can dodge gatling gun fire from various machines. An M61 vulcan generally has a muzzle velocity of 1050 m/s (Mach 3.06).

-Can time and shoot missiles out of the sky (Mach 1 to Mach 5).

-Can evade meteors (Mach 33).

-shining laser is light speed

Durability & Survivability

-Can survive bombs from the Bonne Pirates (0.041 Tons of TNT).

-Can survive meteors from Sera (17.849 to 38.802 Tons of TNT)

Scaling

-Volnutt has regularly foiled the Bonne Pirates’ plans, and shown himself himself to be superior to any of Tron Bonne’s tech. It is safe to say he scales above any of her mechs, including the one that can…

-Lift a very large boulder (159.54 metric tons).

-Blow through a mine passageway (21.76 Tons of TNT).

-Volnutt defeated Sera in the end of Legends 2, and stalemated her before losing his memories. As such, the destructive power of his best weapons should scale to her meteors (17.849 to 38.302 Tons of TNT).

-He also Scales to the storm made by the machine/robot on the forbidden island(400-600 gigatons of tnt)

Weaknesses

While he does have items in Legends 2 to help recover his weapon gauge, most of Volnutt’s weaponry is taken from the same energy source, which can be depleted if used excessively. Despite being exceptionally powerful, Volnutt can and has been incapacitated by tech comparable to his own, as evident from the time Mega Man Juno managed to trap him in an electric field, something he needed outside assistance to escape from. He is also in many ways the most ‘human-like’ incarnation of Mega Man, and may very well have more vulnerable biological components. Although this has never explicitly been shown to be a problem. Lastly, it’s not a ‘disadvantage’ per-say, but for a series notorious for many spinoffs, sequels, and different incarnations, the amount of media for the Legends series is surprisingly sparse, and Volnutt’s own journey technically ends on a cliffhanger.

Character Analysis:Cable(Feat Hero)

Background and Experience

Cable was born to Scott Summers and Madelyne Pryor (a clone of Jean Grey), and was sent to the future to save his life from the Techno-Organic virus and fulfill his destiny as the savior of the Askani clan, where he was raised for 12 years by the re-embodied minds of his mother’s genetic original and his father, the X-Men known as Jean Grey and Cyclops. Then, as an adult, after several decades of military command, he returned to the present day.

There, he became the leader of the mutant black ops group X-Force. He developed a friendly — if antagonistic — partnership with the mutant mercenary Deadpool. And he would eventually go time-hopping into the future again in order to safeguard another mutant baby, Hope. All of those developments are reflected, or just generally included, in Deadpool 2.

Nathan Summers, full name Nathaniel Christopher Charles Dayspring Summers (Jesus, why?) was sired by Scott Summers aka the mutant Cyclops, and Madelyne Pryor, a clone of Jean Grey created by Nathaniel Essix aka Mister Sinister, in order to create the ultimate mutant. He travels back in time to “our” not-too-distant-future (the mainstream continuity of the X-Men comics from our perspective) from a post-apocalyptic future in which he hopes to prevent.

Oh, there’s also a bunch of other weird, complicated and messed up comics bullshit that happened including Scott and Nathan becoming kidnapped, Jean Grey returning and Scott leaving her and the baby for her, Nathan having a psychic link with his half-sister from an alternate universe, Scott eventually coming back again, Madelyn making a deal with demons becoming the Goblin Queen, -you know, your standard-issue convoluted comic book backstory- that I decided to leave out for the sake of simplicity.

Skipping to the important part, Apocalypse took baby Nathan to the moon (as you do) and injected him with a techno-virus in order to stint his growth and suppress his powers. And not just the moon, the Blue Area of the Moon! Anyway, with time he was able to combat this virus and even use it to his advantage, eventually becoming an omega-level mutant.

Arsenal

Belle: An AI system he can interact with telepathically thanks to his bio-cybernetics implanted in him by the techno-virus. With it he can also view an interface that allows him to see localized airwaves to hack into the internet and manipulate electronics. It also streamlines his “chrono-skimming” ability (see Abilities) in order to enhance and better control it. He can also access blue-prints and other various files in order to build, repair, and enhance his weapons and equipment .

Psimitar: A weapon used to amplify and manifest his psychic abilities as energy blasts.

Plasma Rifles: Dual-wielded energy weapons capable of dishing out high powered plasma bolts

Hyper Viper Beam: a large plasma-based energy cannon that fires beams of unstable spiral energy, made famous in the Marvel vs Capcom games.

Also has standard military-grade pistols, sub-machine guns, grenades, and knives.

Abilities

Telekinesis : Ever since he was a child, Nathan Summers harbored strong telekinetic abilities he inherited from his mother. He is capable of moving objects with his mind and creating barriers around himself.

Telepathy: Also inherited from Jean Grey, he possesses mind-reading and related telepathic abilities rivaling Charles Xavier. Can do things such as memory wipe and make people forget how to breathe.

Time Travel: Has the ability to displace himself throughout the timestream. Also by Chrono-skimming, he has the ability to scan the timestream for certain events or people and can psychically project himself through time without needing to travel there physically, effectively being in two places or times at once.

Body-Slide: Effectively teleportation via skipping forward or backward in space-time. Similar to Tracer’s Blink ability. With this, he can also teleport other people across the world.

Healing Factor: Basically had some of Deapool’s cells bonded to his body, allowing his own variation of a healing factor. On top of this, Cable has sometimes shown to be able to repair his body psycho-kinetically.

Size Alteration: Can become giant-sized, a power he stole from Apocalypse.

Matter Manipulation: A fragment of the Phoenix Force he inherited thanks to a part of Jean Grey’s consciousness laying dormant within Madelyn Pryor. Cable can manipulate molecules in order to perform things such as alter the chemical makeup of fruit to make it poisonous or remove oxygen from the air in the surrounding area . Can also disintegrate objects by severing their molecular bonds.

Superhuman Strength: Thanks to his cybernetic enhancements, Cable is physically much stronger than most street-level Marvel characters, and can also use his psychic energy to enhance the force of his strikes or increase his durability.

Optic Blasts: Can project optic beams similar to that of his daddy, yet instead of being the same power, it’s moreso energy projected from his brain and through his eye.

Levitation: Projects his psychic energy underneath himself to create lift.

Psionic Spikes: Can project Psionic Spikes that explode on impact

Technopathy: The ability to communicate with and command machines and various types of electronics and programming. Can also repair, hack into, and build machines rapidly and with acute aptitude.

Feats

Weaknesses

The Technovirus originally implanted in him surpressed his powers, but he has since removed it from his body while keeping the bio-cybernetics that he grew due to the virus being in his body. He used about 20% of his psychic abilities in order to keep the technovirus from spreading to the rest of his body, holding him back from his true potential, though he longer has this limitation.

If he comes into close proximity of his alternate universe counterpart Nathaniel Grey, it will stun him momentarily and cause him excruciating pain.

Character Analysis: Booster Gold (Feat Swan/Kirsche)

Background

Real Name: Michael Jon Carter
Age: 35
Height: 6’5”
Weight: 215 lbs.
aka Goldstar, Supernova, Waverider
Best buddies with the second Blue Beetle, Ted Kord

Ronald Reagan came up with his superhero name after mishearing Booster stammered through saying his name was “Goldstar.”

Eventually became Waverider, basically the god and protector of time.

Michael Carter was an exceptionally gifted Gotham University football player...in the 25th century. He was nicknamed “Booster” for his speed and skill, and he had a bright future ahead of him. However, his mother took ill with a disease that Michael’s relatively poor family couldn’t afford to treat, so Michael took to betting on his own games in order to make ends meet. He was eventually caught and put in prison, his bright future seemingly eliminated. Once he got out, he got a job as a security guard at the Metropolis Space Museum and, upon discovering the exhibit on 20th century superheroes, was inspired to become a superhero himself and rebuild the future he lost. To do so, he stole a Legion flight ring, a force field belt, a power suit, and Rip Hunter’s Time Sphere, and travelled back in time to the 20th century with a security robot named Skeets in tow. There he established himself as a superhero in Metropolis.

However, his heroics were not entirely altruistic. He used his knowledge of future events to win big in the stock market, and founded his own company, Goldstar, Inc. to basically serve as a PR firm and merchandising house, profiting off his heroic stunts. This annoyed other heroes like Superman, who viewed Booster as an empty grandstander. As time went on though, Booster battled actual threats like the criminal organization The 1000 and was forced to mature or die. He even joined the Justice League International and met his soon-to-be best friend Ted Kord, the second Blue Beetle.

Eventually he was contracted by Rip Hunter to become a guardian of the time stream, but at the expense of going down in history as a fraud hero only in it for the greenbacks. He accepted and journey with Rip across time and space, even saving the entire multiverse from Mister Mind. As the years passed, Booster would grow to be a seasoned adventurer and protector of all reality. Eventually he fathered a son (who would grow up to be his own mentor, Rip Hunter), before succumbing to chronal radiation. His body was taken to the Vanishing Point and became one with the chronal energy that was killing him, turning him into the new Waverider, the god-like protector of the time stream.

Experience

Length of Time

Booster served as a superhero centered primarily in Metropolis for several years. Although he’s never had a particularly strong rogues’ gallery, he has extensive experience with the League and other teams including Extreme Justice and the Super Buddies (yes, that’s what it’s called), and even led the JLI in the New 52. He kept adventuring across time and space for 15 years and becomes far more seasoned and experienced in that time.

Accomplishments

Despite being a solidly C-tier superhero in DC Comics, and even being considered as such in-canon, Booster’s accomplishments are deceptively impressive, including:

Single-handedly taking on the Metropolis-based crime syndicate The 1000, and defeating its head, the Director (who was secretly a senator who tried to assassinate Ronald Reagan), in hand-to-hand combat after losing his suit’s power and functions.

Saved the world and most of Earth’s heroes and villains from a Starro invasion.

Killed Rex Hunter, who at the time was composed of chronal energy and was causing temporal anomalies.

Defeated a god-ified Mister Mind (a mind-controlling supergenius caterpillar who’s usually a Captain Marvel villain) and saved the entire multiverse.

Became the leader of the Justice League International in the New 52.

Rejected an offer to become a member of the JLA, instead choosing to protect the time stream instead of embracing fame and fortune, truly becoming “the greatest hero the world has never known!”

Eventually became the god-like Waverider, guardian of the timestream and reality.

Arsenal

Power Suit
Booster’s Power Suit is skin tight and lightweight while also greatly enhancing his natural strength, speed, and durability to superhuman levels. With it he can easily lift weights in excess of several tons, react to things he normally could not, and survive attacks that would normally obliterate him, even without his force field turned on. He has had multiple versions of the suit throughout the years, but all are basically the same (save for some really cringey looking bulked-out armors during the mid-90s).

Energy Gauntlets

His main offensive tool is his gauntlets attached to his arms, both of which house his suit’s power source, 25th century energy cells, and both of which can fire powerful unidirectional energy blasts. These blasts are called “Booster Shots” and their intensity can be adjusted from simply stunning an opponent to outright killing most at full power. He can max out his gauntlets’ power and channel it back into his suit in order to give himself a physical boost, though this could potentially kill him if used for too long. He can also channel his gauntlets’ energy through his suit to shock anything touching him.

Time Travel Circuitry

Although he used to use Rip Hunter’s Time Sphere to travel through time, he eventually integrated time travel circuitry into his suit, allowing him to warp backwards and forwards through time at will. Aside from the obvious strategic value of being able to appear at a fight before it happens, Booster has also used it to on occasion gather other versions of himself from different points in time to fight with him.

Also of note, his future self developed a device that allowed him to stop time entirely and added it to his suit, allowing him to do so at will.

Goggles

His goggles allow him to see through walls, switch to heat vision to detect invisible targets, infrared for operating in darkness, and were once tough enough to protect him from being possessed by Starro.

Legion Flight Ring

A ring originally belonging to members of the Legion of Superheroes, it allows Booster unlimited and extremely high-speed flight, enough to keep up with ultra-fast beings like Superman, Martian Manhunter, and the Flash. If removed from Booster’s finger he’ll lose his flight, but if it’s close enough to him, he can control it telekinetically and force it back on.

Force Field Belt

Easily Booster’s single most useful and powerful piece of his arsenal, his Force Field Belt, which originally belonged to Brainiac-5 of the 30th century, forms an impenetrable barrier of energy around Booster’s body even protecting against microscopic bacteria. Not only does it protect from physical and energy damage, it resists more esoteric attacks like matter manipulation and even telepathy. While a powerful enough telepathic attack can overpower his force field, it has stood up against Maxwell Lord, who once mindwiped the Earth so thoroughly that everyone on the planet forgot his entire existence to the point that video footage of him would appear as someone else.

Booster can also project his force field outward to surround and protect others, or to do so offensively, usually covering an opponent, then shrinking the force field until it crushes them. He once did this to a cloud of bacteria and packed them so tight they baked themselves into ash. He can also increase the size of his force field and surround it with electricity to shock enemies. It’s also worth noting that his force field activates extremely quickly, able to raise itself to cover Booster fast enough to intercept a punch from Doomsday, a character that can fight at massively faster than light speeds.

Mass Dispersion Field

Probably his least-used but arguably deadlies ability is his mass dispersion field which surrounds his body similar to his force field, but instead of blocking attacks, it absorbs any matter it touches and can either redirect it and project it back out, or rearrange its molecules and merge it with other objects. Obviously if applied to a human this could be extremely deadly. Of note, it can also absorb energy, like that of a Green Lantern’s. As useful as it is, using it too much will deplete his force field’s energy, making it more of a last resort kind of attack.

Abilities

Booster is a more or less a normal human. Granted, he is a gifted athlete with a basic understanding of hand to hand combat and a fair amount of gymnastic training and acrobatics which has helped him out when his suit has failed him but other than that he an average human with no super powers...

Other

Waverider

Booster’s eventual transformation into the time god Waverider. It technically only appears in one issue and he doesn’t have a lot of feats as Waverider, but it’s not simply a one-time power up. It is in-canon Booster’s eventual permanent transformation in the future.  He has similar time-based powers but now supercharged into god mode. It could make sense that Waverider could hypothetically appear alongside the present version of Booster to defend him.

Because he only has one appearance in this form, he doesn’t display all of Waverider’s classic powers, however, as the character of Waverider is a being inhabiting different hosts over time, they all have the same powers, and Booster seemed to have an immediate grasp of his powers immediately upon gaining them, so it’s likely you can look at the Matthew Ryder version for the full list of his abilities. These imclude

Composed entirely of chronal energy, making him intangible and unable to be hurt by physical attacks (also likely by matter manipulation and telepathy as he doesn’t have a body or a brain and can just reform from attacks).

Unlimited time travel across all of time and space, as well as sending others to different points in time and different universes against their will. This also allows him to exist in multiple places at once, giving him a pseudo-omnipresence.

Complete knowledge of past and future events, and an understanding of the histories of other beings and their eventual fates, essentially a form of omniscience.

Stop time at will and is immune to time stops

Can follow others through time by tracking their chronal residue

Warp energy to bypass force fields and shapeshift himself into different forms

Can move faster than light

Can summon an infinite army of himself from various microseconds across time

Create force fields that can protect against powerful opponents like Extant

Remove others from timelines and place them elsewhere, including outside of time itself

Erase timelines by altering past events

Skeets

Skeets is Booster’s robotic ally that has followed him from the 25th century and continues to help him on his adventures. “He” possesses an artificial intelligence, advanced computing software, the ability to levitate and fly, fire stunning lasers, produce a cloud of smoke (to fake his own “death”), hack into computers manually with cables, and detect others with special sensors.

Can track/detect people traveling thru time. Some time force sensing shit.

Feats

  • (in general) Since his force field draws from the same power source as his energy gauntlets and power suit, it’s likely that whatever feats the force field can accomplish, he can utilize roughly the same amount of energy offensively.
  • (Action Comics #995) His beams are portrayed to be as potent as Superman’s.
  • (Booster Gold v2 #46) Managed to harm Doomsday with physical strikes.

  • (Justice League International v2 #4) Took a hit from Peraxxus.
  • (Booster Gold v2 #2) Takes a hit from a GL construct.
  • (Justice League International v2 Annual) Took a hit from OMAC (again in Booster Gold v2 #7).
  • (Action Comics #993) Takes a hit from Barry Allen Flash (also in Heroes in Crisis #2 and #5).
  • (Booster Gold v1 #5) His force field protects him from a massive explosion that shattered windows in Metropolis and was comparable to the “fury of a hurricane.”
  • (Booster Gold v1 #7) Superman says Booster’s force field should be strong enough to protect him from his blows.
  • (Booster Gold v1 #22) Force field protects himself and others from a monster that could punch apart buildings.
  • (Booster Gold v1 #11) Survives a building falling on him with a weakened force field.
  • (Booster Gold v1 #4) Briefly survives being tortured with a solar laser (on 20% power, but Mindancer thought that’d be deadly) w/o his force field on.
  • (Booster Gold v1 #7) Tanks a blast from Skeets and then falls several stories to the ground with a depleted force field and no injuries.
  • (Booster Gold v1 #12) Managed to fight with a broken arm and cracked ribs, and then survived a massive fire explosion with no force field.

Skill
  • (Booster Gold v2 #6) Resisted Maxwell Lord shutting his brain off (his force field was off at the time, as he immediately gets hit with a bullet).
  • (Justice League International v4 #4) Became the leader of the Justice League International.
  • (Booster Gold v2 #40) By projecting his forcefield onto Hit Point while he was firing missiles, knocked him out and restrained the implosion of the missiles.

  • (Booster Gold v2 #2) Tricked Sinestro into not creating a paradox by stroking his ego.
  • (Booster Gold v2 #45) Hacked into the USA’s Defense Tracking Department.
  • (Booster Gold v1 #4) Defeated the criminal organization the 1000, at least temporarily.
  • (Booster Gold v1 #1) Uses Skeets tactically to distract Blackguard, then tricks him into electrocuting himself.
  • (Booster Gold v #14) Reprogramed his forcefield without even looking at it.
  • (Booster Gold v1 #5) Can hit small targets from far away with his Booster shots.
  • (Booster Gold v1 #12) KOs the Director/Senator Ballard with two punches.
  • (Booster Gold v1 #15) Is a fairly acrobatic and strong fighter, taking on a group of future cops by himself.

Weaknesses

Booster’s suit is powered by 25th century energy cells, and while they last an incredibly long time, they will be depleted eventually with enough use. His force field in particular, while supremely durable, will not last forever against powerful blows, and can be bypassed by exceptionally strong telepathic and magical attacks, as well as get turned off by energy absorption and EMPs. Without his force field, his suit does still offer protection, but much less, and he is essentially a sitting duck.

And while Booster is intelligent and experienced, he doesn’t usually strategize too much and prefers to rush in without thinking and play it by ear. He’s pretty confident and likes to showboat, although he has admittedly matured since the 90s.
