I actually used to be a fan of Blazblue back then, but I never really played Guilty Gear much. Anyway I like this ep, though I recognize they went a bit overboard in regards to joking about Blazblues convolutedness(though it is convoluted tbf). I wish the fight against the Black Beast lasted longer though.
Episode 42: Gaara vs Toph

This episode was a canon event.
I think up until this episode it was fairly assumed that the show was just objectively correct or that the outcomes were at least fairly substantiated even if you didn’t agree with the exact explanation. This one was pretty much objectively wrong even at the time, and I remember people making blogs breaking it down. It kinda became a turning point where people became much more critical of the show, for better or worse.

One interesting fact though. Akuma was the one who made Toph’s sprites for this episode.
Episode 43: Boba Fett vs Samus

This was less of a “rematch” in a modern sense and more of a “remaster”. The basic dialogue and verdict were all the same, it was just re-edited the rundown and had the animation redone. You can really see the influences from Monty’s Haloid in it, as in this version Samus ends the fight as Zero Suit Samus.
Anyway overall it was pretty good. It’s funny that the remaster happened relatively “early” into the show's run though. As season 2 is still “classic DB” in my eyes.
Episode 44: Chuck Norris vs Segata Sanshiro

This is pretty much just a meme episode, but it was still fun. I remember that I think I came up with the idea of using the official Chuck Norris joke book for reference. I would probably say that nowadays it would be a lot harder to do, cause the Chuck Norris memes have long since passed their prime. Though Segata seemingly has a son now, so that’s some interesting lore.
Episode 45: Guts Vs Nightmare

I remember enjoying this ep, but I think the recap is funny. In hindsight it’s essentially just “Gut’s is so badass, of course he wins!”. It doesn’t really give much of an explanation beyond that.
Episode 46: Iron Man vs Lex Luthor

Another spectacular animation from Torrian and the “playing human” line went hard. I would say the analysis on Tony’s end also holds up fairly well. Though funny fact they mixed him up with Arno Stark in the preview and had to correct it before the episode came out.
Interestingly “at the time” I think the verdict had some pushback. I remember the general opinion was that Lex should win because of scaling to Superman. Nowadays I feel like it would depend on if Tony got the Godkiller suits.
Episode 47: Beast vs Goliath

A lot of people remember this fight because of the “Golden Tree” memes. (Essentially its the idea of saying a character has a feat, only to later debunk said feat in the recap). I remember it for two other reasons, mainly being that this is when the ODBFB expanded and when we first started getting exposure to Screwattack Forums.
There were multiple people in the community back then who would make character or prediction blogs. Naturally some of us became friends and eventually we asked them to join us. This ended up being Lswan and another G1 named Hero’s Shade. The first of which I’m sure you recognize! If you’re reading this Swan let it be known that I personally advocated for you joining LOL, so imagine the alternate universe where I got into AVGN or something like that instead.
Screwattack forums was essentially a forum with more “hardcore” members of the community. It was run by this guy named AbramsX. They tended to be much more argumentative about a fight's outcome than the people on Sa’s main site where.

Episode 48: Solid Snake vs Sam

This is probably objectively the best episode of season 2. It’s animation is long, it was written, it has additional characters and the verdict was pretty spot on. I think my only gripe is that Snake was so limited in regards to what he had in his arsenal. I think I remember several of the ODBFB members arguing about what he should have, and that the idea of him going in with minimum weaponry was split. If he came back nowadays I imagine he’d just get everything.
Episode 49: Darth Bader vs Dr Doom

I can’t remember anything about this fight tbh. I think I remember liking the Doom Bot fakeout. Doom would def stomp waaaay harder than he did back then though.
Episode 50: Goku vs Superman 2
Lol this was one of the less well received fights in the series history. From the get go it was kinda badly timed, cause the Resurrection of F movie got announced mid development. The episode was able to include SSJB, but then the Super Anime series started later that year, which gave Goku the infamous Shockwave punch feat. Pretty much resulting in people demanding another rematch.
The episode from what I understand also really wasn’t intended to be a sequel and was more along the lines of add on DLC. It doesn't really expand its points much from the original episode. Both characters are also arguably out of character. The ending was also a little condescending to Goku. Overall I can understand why Ben doesn’t like this episode.
I will say that despite this, I did like the fight, at least when it came out. It was well animated and more or less ended the way everyone expected it too. Though at the time DC was in its N52 reboot, so that complicated how people thought Superman should be approached.
Years later I watched the episode again and made it a point to note down advice on what to avoid in the 3rd Goku Superman.
