Character Analysis: Boomstick

 


Background


The Co-host of Death battle, along with the character Wizard. Unlike Wiz, Boomstick is a bit of a redneck. He lives in a shack/trailer in the middle of nowhere, hunts his own food, and is fairly uncultured. He was raised by a single mother, whom he claimed died in one episode, but who was later shown to be alive.

One of his big hang ups is his father, who apparently ran out on him and his mom when he was a child. Throughout his life he’s cycled through several step dads. Later seasons heavily imply that his father is Sarge from the web series Red vs Blue.

Boomstick so has an ex wife who left him for another man, and who he regularly describes as evil, terrible, ETC. He supposedly has to pay her alimony checks. Later episodes also imply he’s had multiple ex-wives.

Finally Boomstick has at least one child. Only a daughter has ever been confirmed to exist, but it's implied he may have more.


Which leads to one of Boomstick’s defining characteristics.  Due to all his stress and his fractured family life, he copes by drinking Beer…. A Lot. He’s married a lamp while drunk, gotten tattoos while on drunken benders, and sees the world as beer. It’s even implied he’s drunk so much beer that it genetically bonded itself to his molecular structure.

Despite often acting like Wiz is an annoyance, he clearly enjoys his company. He’s apparently known Wiz since Middle school and has gone on numerous trips and vacations with him since.

His extended family is also surprisingly fleshed out. He has an evil twin, descended from the Uchia clan, his mom is Shinigami from Bleach, his uncle is Yog Soggoth and many people in his family share the name “Boomstick” with him. He also owns a turtle named Mr Snappy and a god named Spaniels.

Armor

Mjolnir armor

Mjolnir Armor from the Halo series, which Boomstick was shown to be wearing during the episode, Meta vs Carolina.

The Mjolnir armor is a combat exoskeleton designed to be used specifically by the Spartan IIs in the halo universe. The original models of the suit can kill those without the heightened reflexes and physical strength The armor's shell is composed of a multilayer alloy and is covered in a refractive coating.The suit contains a gel-filled layer that regulates temperature and can reactively change its density. The inner skinsuit is made of a moisture-absorbing synthetic material linked to a control computer and the user's neural interface. 


The original mark 4 variation of the Armor increases strength by 2x and reaction speed by 5x.


Abilities


Hi frequency speech

Boomstick can speak at high pitched frequencies incomprehensible to man.


Ghostly wail

The ghostly wail from Danny Phantom. It creates an omnidirectional wave of ecto energy that causes damage to any opponents and objects in the vicinity.

Drunken fist 

A martial arts style replicating the moves of a person when they’re Drunk.

Sharingan

An ability from the Uchia clan in Naruto. It’s implied Boomstick gained the ability via a combination of implanting the Sharingan eyes of someone else into his body and having Uchiha lineage. It allows the uses to perceive things on a cellular level, copy opponents movements, see chakra, and break out of illusions.

99 bottles

A metaphysical being based on the “stands” found in Jojo. Boomstick’s stand 99 bottles, can turn anything it touches into Beer.

Stands move according to the will and desires of the user, but can act autonomously in order to preserve the life of the user (and themselves). Such as when Star Platinum autonomously caught a bullet to keep it from hitting Jotaro.

  • Stands are spiritual/mental, and therefore cannot normally be affected by anything other than other Stands or abilities that can affect things astrally.

  • Stands and their user typically share the same damage. If one is harmed, so is the other.

  • A Stand’s energy is proportional to the range of the operator. The closer they are to their user, the stronger they become.


Time travel

It’s implied Boomtick can travel through time at will.


Teleportation

It’s implied Boomstick can teleport on command.


Reincarnation

When killed by Wiz, Boomstick’s soul naturally sought out another vessel to reincarnate into. Giving him partial control over if the body was already inhabited.


Food summoning Quirk

Boomstick has a genetic super power, AKA quirk, from My hero academia. It allows him to summon different types of food at command.

Fa jin quirk

The Fa Jin Quirk used by Deku in My Hero academia. It allows the storage of kinetic energy, which can then be used to boost attack power temporarily. Its boost in power is roughly 50% the power of All Might going all out.

Golden Lotus clap

The golden lotus clap move used by Po. It allows the user to blind a foe with a burst of energy. Closing or protecting your eyes can negate the move.

Dragon Shout(Soul Tear)

Boomstick can perform Dragon shouts from the Elder Scrolls, such as Soul Tear, which attacks and shatters the soul of a victim.

Elemental Bending

Boomstick has the ability to control and bend the elements from the last airbender series. In particular he’s been shown to airbend and water/beer bend.

Ki manipulation

Boomstick has Dragon Ball Ki manipulation abilities, allowing him to shoot ki beams from his mouth.

Hamon

The primary style of fighting and energy used in early Jojo. By breathing, humans circulate oxygen and blood through their bodies. This in effect produces ripples, and manifests energy that is of the same wave-length and function as the sun’s rays. This energy can be used to walk on water, cure poison, and be used to amplify physical strikes.

Magic spells

Boomstick apparently knows some magic spells. His “infinite naptime spell” can put opponents to sleep. His “beer spell” can turn things into Beer from a distance.

Gun leg

A shotgun Boomstick has attached to his severed right leg. It’s canonically the Super Shotgun from Doom 2. It’s a double barreled shotgun that sprays 20 pellets per shot.

Boomstick attempted to install butt machine guns into himself, but installed them backwards.


Halo weapons

Boomstick has access to various weapons and items from Halo due to his canon status in the Red vs Blue series.  This includes the Brute Shot, Br-55 Rifle and bubble shield

A potato Gun the Boomstick uses off screen. It knocks Wiz out and puts him in a coma for a month.

Rocket hands

Rocket hands used for flight. Boomstick got them spontaneously in one episode after ranting about characters being given random powers.


Windbreaker

A portable device that releases a toxic gas that can knock a person out.

Nuclear missiles

Boomstick has access to nuclear warheads.

Boomstick has numerous vehicles. Including cars, the “Boomstick mobile” hot dog cart, a dune buggy, tanks, trucks and motorcycles.


Jack Spaniels

Boomstick’s dog. It has access to the devil gene from Tekken and is later revived in a zombified state.

“Characters weapons”

Note: This is equipment originating from characters on the show. Wiz has legitimately replicated some  of these items/powers with his own inventions, so he should have access to them at all times. Others just seem to be items that are more or less “the real object” from each respective character and were just stored in the lab somehow, so implying any cast member on the Death Battle could use them. Boomstick has also been implied to own various weapons in the “Armory” and “top 10” shows.


Replicated/Exclusive equipment:


Thor’s Mjolnir: Boomstick is worthy of Thor’s Mjolnir weapon. It can dispel magic spells, grant cosmic awareness, generate electricity, absorb energy, manipulate time, and move at MFTL speeds when thrown. Thor himself is also immune to mind control.

Megaman’s Megabuster: A power cannon from Megaman that fires shots of solar energy. It can be charged for a more powerful shot.


Popye’s Spinach: Popeye’s spinach. Boomstick can seemingly summon a can at will.  Grants flight, shapeshifting, regeneration, and genius intelligence.

Boomstick Tubes: A replication of Darsied’s boom tubes. They allow Boomstick to travel across time and space via portal.

A soda filled with cosmic kinetic energy,similar to the speed force used by Wally West. People using the Drink can move at MFTL speeds.

Maniac armor: A military tactical suit that specializes in knife weaponry. It’s likely made of Kevlar.


Shiv: The 5 inch handmade shiv from the Last of Us. It can be attached to various 


Tesla Cannon:  The electric energy canon from the fallout series


Pokeball/Master Ball: The pokeball from Pokemon. It can capture animals and the master ball has a 100% catch rate


Sheep: The sheep from Worms. They explode like bombs.


Mr Toots: A unicorn that can fire lasers from Red Faction Armageddon.

The Doctor’s De-mat Gun: A gun built using the Key of Rassilon. Anyone or anything hit by it will have their entire timeline, every particle they've ever interacted with, scanned, and the entirety of reality overwritten, effectively erasing them from temporal existence.

She-ra’s Sword of protection: The iconic weapon from She-ra. Its magical transformation beams can also affect other animals, giving them horns and wings. It can transform into a lasso, shield, boomerang, glider, staff, grapple gun, etc. It can also deflect magic.

Blake’s Dust: Dust from Rwby. Dust is the physical embodiment of nature (taking form in crystals). Boomstick has Fire and Ice dust, to make explosions of Fire and Ice respectively.

Omnitrix: The Omnitrix from the series Ben 10. The Omnitrix’s most basic function is to attach itself to a user and allow them to transform into one of a set of ten aliens at any given time (though in total the Omnitrix contains the genetic material of at least 1,900,012 aliens). Alien X is the most powerful
