Another list of Sonic match ideas since I happened to be in the mood for it. This will probably be the last one I make for a while. Like last time I’m only going to talk about the positives of each match to try to stay non partial.
Archie Knuckles vs Juggernaut
This feels like it’s probably the most “requested” fight using specific incarnations of characters from the Sonic Series. I myself def wouldn’t mind getting to use Knuckles again and honestly he probably has the most “unique” stuff to go over in Archie regarding the Sega Sonic characters. From what I know it’s also probably fairly close and the connections seem decent(both being well….Juggernauts, known for power/strength).
Sally Acorn vs Princess Leia
I’ll admit this is somewhat of my own desire. I have a fondness for Satam, Archie and the freedom fighters, so I kinda want to have one of them in a fight. Particularly given I know Sega "probably" won’t be using them anytime soon. Sally Acorn seems like a good fit given her arsenal/abilities go outside the norm for Sonic characters and she’s probably the most popular member of the team. Leia also seems like she has decent connections given they both have the whole rebel leader princess thing going on. The fight could also be pretty interesting assuming Leia is given legends feats and abilities.
Enerjak vs Lord Drakkon
Enerjak and Lord Drakon are both evil versions of commonly beloved characters (Knuckles and Tommy Oliver. Enerjak likewise is one of the more notable villains in the archie and actually has a lot of more unique powers/abilities to talk about. It overall seems like it could be a cool fight and I'm pretty sure Drakkon is in a similar power bracket.
Fleetway Super Sonic vs Onslaught
There aren't many other versions of Sonic that are super notable, but Fleetway Super Sonic has a pretty big following in the Sonic fandom. Essentially in Fleetway Sonic, Super Sonic was an evil alternate personality(and later doppelganger) that acted like a major antagonistic force. Onslaught similarly is an entity born from the negative personality traits of Magneto. It also feels like it might be interesting to talk about the other major western Sonic comic now that we’ve used Archie multiple times.

ReplyDeleteArchie Knux vs Juggs is based, I’m all in for that fight ngl, awesome potential for covering new ground in Archie and one of the craziest forms it has to offer, with some great fight potential for cosmic destruction.
Sally vs Leia could be interesting because it presents an angle of Archie that kind of goes under explored in Death Battles, the true power of non-Super Form characters. Since to my memory Sally doesn’t have anything resembling or equating to a Super Form, it’d mainly be using her best feats and scaling to base Super forms which would definitely allow for a different analysis, and wouldn’t result in having to bring up the SGW at all. I’m not super into Star Wars but this seems like a solid fight.
I’m all for the Enerjak matchup, I’m always down to hear about anything Power Rangers/Super Sendai/Kamen Rider, should be a blast to watch honestly, esp looking at a more villainous Archie character and one of its biggest villains.
Fleetway Sonic I’d love to see on the show, and while I’m sure Onslaught has stuff to offer, I’m… very partial to another matchup. Kasen Ibaraki vs Fleetway Sonic is one of my favorite Vs MUs of all time (largely because I might be it’s creator). Has a solid base connection of “protagonists associated with nature who have an psychotic, evil alternate personality locked within their strongest form, that they spend most of their story trying to suppress/deal with”. It allows for a fun transition from a fight in base form to it getting out of hand with their evil alternate personalities, their abilities bounce off of and clash with one another well, there’s potential for high scale, and it’d discuss two very interesting verses overall. While Touhou is probably a bit of a question to introduce on the show, I think attaching it to a verse like Sonic could help a lot in its success and it could potentially be introduced earlier. I’m actually working on a blog for this MU rn, alongside a campaign video for this matchup for the DB episode vote, hopefully I can get it out soon. For other alternate continuity Sonic fights, there’s only so much else to work with honestly. I think Scourge would probably be worth an episode due to his differences to Sonic and villainous nature, Archie Tails might be worth a run due to him literally being the strongest character in the verse and some absolutely buckwild shit, and in terms of IDW, I think Surge could definitely be worth an episode in the future. While she’s pretty early on in her story and could definitely be left to cook for a while, I think she’s got good potential for being an interesting combatant. Her only major opponent right now is Fark from Spark the Electric Jester tho, but they have pretty cool connections.
Of course there’s always Archie Blaze vs Dirk Strider if you ever want to open the can of worms that is Homestuck as well. (edited)
