History

  • Norrin Radd was like your typical Disney Princess: living a life most would dream of but wanting adventure of the unknown. And he would find his chance when the planet Zenn-La was targeted by the Universal Threat known as Galactus. With no one brave enough to stand in the entity’s way, Norrin Radd decided to risk his life to stop Galactus’ plan for destruction. To do so, he volunteered to become his Herald in exchange for his planet’s safety. Galactus agreed, turning Norrin Radd into the Silver Surfer.

  • For many years, possibly multiple decades, the Surfer did his job diligently, making sure the planets were not full of life. When he had no choice, it almost drove him mad, making Galactus alter his mind to repress his emotions and past memories. This made the job much easier for him but it did lead him to Earth. While he did lead Galactus here, his memories were unlocked and he fought back against his former master. So Galactus left the Surfer with a punishment: he will be stuck on the Planet Earth, never to fly the spaceways again (also Zenn-La is back on the menu).

  • After years of trying to escape with even Reed Richards finding it difficult, the Thing of all people came up with an idea: why not try to get past the barrier without the surfboard. That works and after saving Galactus’ current Herald, the Surfer was able to fly freely in space once more. Despite that, he always seems to frequently visit Earth for one reason or another. And despite losing Shalla-Bal, found new loves. The most impactful one being Dawn Greenwood of Earth. A chance encounter when an alien kidnapped her for leverage, Dawn showed the Surfer the beauty of discovery that he thought he lost forever.

  • When flying back through time, they accidentally overshot their travel and went to the previous universe. There, Dawn grew old together with Norin and died happily. Using his Power Cosmic, he entered Galactus Incubator and shot her energy to the universe. It was the first light of the universe, thus forever making it Dawn. And to keep her memories alive, the Power Cosmic’s colors are Red with Black Polka Dots, her favorite. He also went back in time once more to bring life to the planets that Galactus would destroy in the future.

  • Silver Skin - A shell that covers Surfer created by Galactus. It increases his durability, keeps him self-sustained and can let him survive the various conditions of space from the crushing pressures of a black hole to the extreme heat of a supernova.

  • Flight - While the Surfboard is his main method of flight, he is able to use the Power Cosmic to fly.

  • Teleportation - The Surfer can teleport to any location he wishes, be it instantaneously, through Portal Creation or even through Dimensional Travel.

  • Astral Projection - Can fight as a spirit.
