Character Analysis: Stitch (Feat KirbyKid)

Background

  • Full Name: Stitch

  • AKA: Experiment Number 626

  • Age: 18 years old

  • Made of the galaxy’s fiercest creatures

  • Knows molecular physics

  • Former captain of the Galactic Armada

  • Likes: Coconut cake & Coffee

On planet Turo, Jumba Jookiba, lead scientist of galaxy defense industries would be accused of illegal genetic experimentation. He would round up the galaxy’s most fearsome and powerful creatures, combining their most deadliest aspects into one, single being. His experiment would outdo all of his past illegal experiments, proving to be his most evil, destructive, and above all else… fluffy. Jumba would be tried for his illegal creation of Experiment 626, with said experiment escaping all the way to quadrant 17 section 005 area 51, to a familiar little planet called Earth. 626 would find itself crash-landed on one of Hawaii’s islands, the island of Kauai, and be stranded as his molecular structure is too dense to swim.

There he would run into a girl named Lilo, an equally strange and odd little girl who would go on to teach Stitch the true meaning of Ohana and the difference between right and wrong. Stitch would realize through Lilo that in order to find a place where he truly belongs, he would have to accept love and kindness into his heart. Stitch would go against his own evil programming, and find himself a true family, a family that is just as broken as he is, but still good all the same. Eventually Jumba’s former partner, Dr. Jacques von Hämsterviel, would seek out all of Jumba’s other experiments. As luck would have it, Stitch would find out he was not as lonely as he once thought, as Jumba had created 625 other experiments in dehydrated pods that would activate from water. Awfully inconvenient when considering the fact 623 of them ended up in Hawaii. Lilo & Stitch would go on to find every one of them, giving them each a home and ohana of their own. After giving each experiment a home of their own, Stitch was made captain of the galactic armada, but would turn it down to stay with ohana back on Hawaii.

Enter Stitch! The anime, Lilo & Stitch had separated to go on their own journey in life, and ended up separated due to an unfortunate set of events. Lilo was supposed to meet Stitch at the very beach they separated from, but 4 years later, Lilo was late because Nani was pregnant, so Stitch ran off thinking he was abandoned. Stitch would end up on the (fictional) island of Izayoi and meet a girl named Yuna Kamihara and go on all sorts of wacky adventures involving Yokai and other experiments. Stitch would go on to save the universe and the galaxy multiple times and be regarded as a true intergalactic hero.

(Meanwhile in another chinese spin-off called Stitch and Ai, Stitch ends up with a girl named Wang Ai Ling who lives in the Huangshan mountains and goes on wacky adventures with her. Oh and apparently Jumba programmed Stitch with a super giant alien form and the power to destroy entire star systems… yeaaaah.)

Experience/Skill

Stitch was programmed with the brain of a supercomputer. The movie came out in 2002, so putting that into perspective, the Earth Simulator was the world’s fastest computer between 2002 - 2004. It had over 5120 processors, 10TB of RAM and 700TB of disk space. Though keep in mind, the term “supercomputer” is being used from the perspective of Jumba, who is a super advanced alien from a super advanced alien species, so it’d be fair to assume Stitch has the supercomputer brain of something from modern day.

Frontier is the world’s #1 supercomputer right now which can compute one quintillion calculations per second, with 1.1 exaflops of data storage.

Stitch knows molecular physics and can do entire calculations in seconds (Bad Stitch 11:14) and is capable of fashioning a mech suit (Ploot comes back - 2:40/3:12/14:09) or even a spaceship (Raijin 18:12) out of spare parts or junk within seconds. He can build an entire castle from sand in seconds (Cannonball 19:15) Stitch is incredibly athletic and can easily maneuver obstacle courses and exhibits excellent agility. (Kixx 12:45) He can make contraptions out of trash in seconds (Sprout 4:58) (Retro 2:02)

If we compare Stitch to his creator, Jumba has gone on record to say his IQ is larger than some galaxies (Spike 19:30). Jumba has also gone on record to say that his smarts are genetically coded into Stitch. (Anime ep 20 - 2:30) 1% of Jumba’s brain is smarter than entire planetary civilizations. Stitch is a one million degree black belt and can beat his cousin Kixx in combat, who is programmed to be the best fighter in the galaxy.

Arsenal

Plasma Blaster: Stitch’s main ray gun that fires superheated plasma. Jumba would outfit his blasters with upgrades so that they can later fire all sorts of different ammo rounds. Some ammo rounds include:

Jet Pack: A jet pack that allows Stitch to fly

Freeze Ray: A ray that fires a beam of ice capable of freezing foes

Grenades: Grenades that explode when thrown

Sizemotronic 200: A size changing gun that can make things go big or small (Page 75)

Laser Shield: An energy shield meant to deflect and block attacks (Yin-Yang 12:30)

Underwater Suit: A swimsuit designed by Jumba to allow Stitch to swim underwater (Sinker 16:38)

Abilities

Bulletproof: Stitch is highly resistant to guns of all kind given his extremely dense molecular structure

Fireproof: Stitch is extremely resistant to heat of varying degrees. He has dunk himself into lava completely unaffected (Page 71 - 73) and has resisted lava and fire blasts from Splodeyhead and Yang with no issue. This also enables him to hold bolts of plasma.

Super vision: Stitch has several different types of eye sight programmed

  • Night Vision: Allows him to see in the dark (Richter 10:00)

  • X-ray Vision: Allows him to see through walls (Clip 7:54)

  • Infrared Vision: Can be used to spot invisible enemies (Houdini 19:32)

  • Zoom Vision: This allows Stitch to zoom in on anything he looks at from miles away (Amnesio 17:34)

Wall Crawling: Stitch can stick and climb to almost any surface

Super Hearing: Stitch can hear anything from miles away, even something as quiet as a whisper. He can also tune into radio frequencies with his hearing. (Yaarp 5:52)

Super Spit: Stitch’s spit has been utilized in a number of different ways (Sinker 11:24). He can hock loogies hard enough to deflect metal piercing spikes from his cousin.. Spike. Almost like a spit machine gun. (Link Age 0:53) His spit is also highly conductive and can short circuit tech. (Rufus 11:00)

  • Glue Spit: spit that’s sticky enough to stick objects together (Bad Stitch 3:35)

  • Acid Spit: Acidic spit capable of melting flesh (Movie)

Alien Form: Stitch can grow two extra arms, antennae and spines on his back. It doesn’t really give any notable strength increase but does make him slightly more intimidating and the additional arms are helpful for holding more weapons.

Sonic Scream: Stitch is capable of screaming so loud it can blow people away (9:30)

Defying physics: Stitch can just defy physics. He’s gone on record to say so and it allows him to float in place and do typical toon force shenanigans. (Experiment Zero 6:52)

Powercell: Stitch has a power cell inside his body (Stitch’s Birthday 16:58) that’s charged by the energy of two giant planets colliding into each other (Stitch’s Birthday 7:45 - 8:00). When Stitch feels intense love for his ohana, the power cell in his body begins to surge and gives him an immense boost in power. (Dark End 18:12)

Feats

  • Helped find 624 other experiments a home

  • The strongest of Jumba Jookiba’s experiments

  • Built a mech suit in 5 seconds

  • Survived being inside two blackholes

  • Defeated his genetically superior cousin Leroy

  • Saved the Universe countless times

  • Crossed over with Kim Possible, Jake Long, The Proud Family & Recess

Strength

  • Routinely stated to be able to lift 3000 times his own weight (11:38)

  • Lift giant boulders (Movie)

  • Can punch boulders into rubble (15:42)

  • Mow down a small forest with a single tree (9:28)

  • Lift giant vehicles (14:10)

  • Lift two road rollers casually (18:05)

  • Can lift large trucks into the air extremely casually (11:30)

  • Strong enough to move icebergs (14:57)

  • Sneezed a tornado (3:50)

  • Lift a planet busting laser and throw it into space (13:48-15:00)

  • Throw houses and buildings into the air (13:00 and 13:28) (10:25)

  • Physically keep spaceships from taking off (10:25)

  • Stitch’s powercell in his body is made from the energy of two planets colliding with each other (Stitch’s Birthday 7:45 - 8:00)

  • Was able to beat Dark End, an experiment made with a much more powerful powercell in its body who also beat 4 stronger clones of Stitch. This was after Stitch had survived a galaxy busting bomb, and Stitch was able to one shot the experiment that also one shot all of those other Stitch clones at the same time (19:03).

  • Is stated to be the strongest and most destructive experiment that Jumba has created

    • This means Stitch scales above Holio (Experiment 606) and Experiment 607, both of which were described as being able to destroy the universe. (16:36)  There is credence to this, as Stitch is capable of tanking a galaxy destroying bomb and hurting experiments that are just as strong as Stitch is in base. Leroy, an experiment designed to be stronger than Stitch in every single way, was also stalemated by Stitch in combat. This is important because Leroy had rounded up all other 624 experiments effortlessly by itself, which includes Holio and 607.

Speed

Stitch is stated to have super speed by Jumba himself. He can run and roll fast enough to burst into flames, kinda like Sonic the Hedgehog (Kixx 17:24 - 17:45). He can keep up with his cousin Sparky who can travel through electric wires as pure electricity (Lightspeed). He was also able to effortlessly catch his cousin Zap, who is designed to be a living laser bolt. (627 9:15)

Stitch flew a spaceship from a random planet all the way to a nearby blackhole without hyperdrive, and was being chased and fired at by both Gantu and Jumba so he was capable of processing how fast he was moving. This was in the span of 1 minute and 53 seconds. If we used the average distance between stars, that would be 5 light years.

Gantu, after flying out of  a galaxy through a galaxy, flew through an asteroid belt. And Gantu flew out of said galaxy within a second.(2:50 - 3:35) Stitch wrecks Gantu’s butt all the time so this scales easily.

Stitch flew a spaceship without hyperdive to a nearby nebula and was capable of processing his speed (11:54). Not only that, after being jettisoned from the same nebula he was able to land safely on the planet he flew from moments prior. (17:05 - 17:51) Stitch is safely MFTL in speed.

Durability

Stich has survived bouncing off mountaintops and blowing himself up on an oil tanker inside a volcano. He has taken hits from his cousin Richter, who can cause planet splitting earthquakes with his tail (20:41). He can survive the vacuum of space, and survived getting all the mucus in his body sucked out of him, which would kill a normal person. He’s also tanked getting shocked with over 300,000 volts of electricity (9:58).

In some of his greatest feats of durability, Stitch has survived 2 blackholes on 2 different occasions. In the Leroy and Stitch movie where he was outside of a spaceship near the pull of a blackhole, and another where Experiment Zero had designed a supernova bomb that would wipe out the entire galaxy and Stitch took it to a black hole… with him still being on the bomb. (17:05)

Stitch also took hits and contended with Dark End, an experiment that had one shot 4 superior clones of Stitch all at once. If we scale Stitch to Holio and 607 (Which is fair given Jumba has gone on record multiple times to say Stitch is the strongest out of all his experiments) Stitch should easily scale to universal feats of durability and power. For instance, in order to stop Holio’s blackhole, Lilo & Stitch had to fire an anti-anti matter sphere directly at Holio’s core, and when the weapon that was meant to fire the sphere failed, Stitch physically grabbed the sphere with his bare hands and chucked it into Holio. The scaling is made even more apparent given the fact Leroy, an experiment made to be superior to Stitch in every way, was stalemated by Stitch and even caught all other 623 experiments by himself, which includes Holio and 607.

Scaling

Stitch is the strongest experiment out of all his cousins, and is stated to be “the most destructive, unstoppable monster the universe had ever seen” by Jumba himself. (Link 3:00)

Here’s a list of experiments that Stitch reasonably scales to:

  • Richter: Capable of causing 5.0 Earthquakes casually and even earthquakes capable of splitting the Earth in half, and destroy an asteroid capable of destroying the Earth

  • Holio: capable of creating a blackhole that will suck in the entire universe (16:36)

  • Cannonball: Capable of causing world destroying tsunami’s

  • Slushy: Creates a storm that covers the entire island of Kauai and coat’s the entire island in snow (4:50)

  • Splodyhead: 3 shots from Splodeyheads fire shots split a storm that was covering the entire island of Kauai (20:52)

  • Shoe: Bad luck experiment that caused a volcanic eruption (Shoe 17:32)

  • Phoon: wind powers could destroy the island of of Kauai (18:00)

  • Experiment 607: Could collapse the entire universe onto itself (7:57)

  • Kixx: Designed to be the best fighter in the galaxy (17:25)

  • Leroy: Designed to be better than Stitch in every way (Fight Scene)

  • Experiment 627: Designed to be better than Stitch in every way

  • Mr. Stenchy and Mrs. Sickly: Both experiments coming into contact with each other would destroy the planet (6:35)

Stitch should also reasonably scale to Jumba in smarts, as he has stated that Stitch has his smarts in his genetic code. Crazy when considering Jumba has stated that his IQ is larger than some galaxies.

Weaknesses

Since his molecular density is too dense, he’s incapable of swimming, and has a crippling fear of water. He also has a habit of being too big for his britches, and getting too cocky in certain situations which usually results in him on his ass. He can also get easily distracted in the middle of fights.
