Character Analysis: Michael Myers ( Feat Kirby Kid)

 Background


Full Name: Michael Audrey Myers

On Halloween night 1957 in Haddonfield, Illinois,  after a grueling 3 day labor, Audrey Myers would finally give birth to a stillborn son at 11:57 pm. The child would be dead for approximately 9 minutes before coming back to life at 12:06 am November 1st the following day, giving something evil enough time to enter the child’s body.


Nothing particularly stood out about the child at first, as he seemed normal enough to his peers at church and school. At home however, the child’s father was abusive, both physically and sexually to Judith Myers, the child’s older sister. On another faithful Halloween night in 1963, the child’s sixth birthday, Judith’s parents would leave her alone with her younger brother. Rather than take him out Trick R’ Treating, Judith would instead have sex with her boyfriend, leaving the child alone. After finally being alone in the house with Judith, the boy donned a clown mask and grabbed a kitchen knife and sneaked up on her, stabbing her several times, ultimately killing her. 


Michael’s parents would admit him into Smith’s Grove Sanitarium, where Doctor Sam Loomis would spend 8 years trying to rehabilitate him, and the next 7 years trying to keep him locked up for good. This was because Michael would continue his murderous schemes on other child patients over the years, with no one suspecting it to be him. Loomis would be obsessed with keeping Michael locked up, not only because of the fear of what would be unleashed if he were to be released into the public, but because Michael also killed his soon to be wife and child psychologist Jennifer Hill by pushing her off the Sanitarium roof. 15 years later on Halloween night, the child would escape Smith’s Grove Sanitarium, going on another killing spree in an effort to kill his younger sister, Laurie Strode, who had been adopted by Morgan and Pamela Strode. This was because Michael’s parents were killed in a car crash 3 years after the murder of his older sister. Wearing a pale white mask and holding a kitchen knife, the older brother would ruthlessly hunt down his younger sister that very Halloween night in 1978. He would come to be known as The Bogeyman. 


Michael would eventually be stopped by his psychiatrist Doctor Sam Loomis, only to recover from his fatal injuries time and time again in an attempt to finish off his younger sister, or whatever remaining family he had left. Always on Halloween night Michael would return to Haddonfield to carry out his ruthless murder spree.


There are many theories as to why Michael is a natural born killer. May it be from the child’s abusive background, genetic history of alcoholism or mental illness. According to historical records, Michael Myers is a direct descendant of a cursed bloodline, as The Curse of Samhain (Also known as The Mark of Thorn) was placed on one of Myers descendants nearly 2,000 years prior. During the New England witch trials a man by the name of Murphey Myers, the leader of a clan of druids, would head west to Haddonfield, Illinois in fear for their lives. While women born to the Myers clan were granted the ability to see visions and read minds, first born males were destined to carry out the seed of Samhain’s evil. Myers was the first male child of the Myer’s clan to be born on a Halloween night, becoming the perfect vessel to carry out Samhain’s evil. In order to appease the Gods, these druid priests held fire rituals, sacrificing the criminally insane in order to peer into the many omen’s of the future. The evil would eventually find its way into the world through Michael, much to the surprise of the druids that aimed to stop it. 


Equipment


Kitchen Knife


His iconic kitchen knife. Michael usually opts for this as his main weapon of murder. He has more than one. It also never runs out of bullets.


Car


Throughout Michael’s killing career, Michael has had a slew of car’s that he’s apprehended from people that he’s either killed or just straight up stolen from. Despite being locked up in a sanitarium for 15 years at the age of 6, Michael is a pretty decent driver, having used his vehicle of choice to get from point A to point B or to straight up run someone over. 


*Michael is notably really good at making great use of his surroundings to kill his victims. He’s used various tools like knives, machetes, scalpels, wires, needles, an ice skate, wood planks etc to kill his victims


Abilities


Mark of Thorn (Curse of Samhain)


A cursed mark meant to symbolize the curse of Samhain. This mark is meant to be an answer to why Michael is so inhumanly strong. 


Superhuman Strength


Michael has always exhibited feats of strength far outweigh those of normal men. He can snap the neck completely off someone’s body or toss a fully grown man in the air. 


Superhuman Speed


Michael is known for clearing entire areas so fast that the people who are looking at Michael will lose track of him in the blink of an eye. 


Superhuman Durability 


Michael will often survive blows that would otherwise kill an ordinary man, may it be getting hit by a truck or a car moving at full speed, a room exploding on himself or being left in blazing fires, he always seems to just walk it off.


Dead By Daylight Powers


  • Evil Within Killer Power: Activating Evil Within allows The Shape to see his prey clearly and build up more evil power by stalking them.

    • Evil Within I: Grants Undetectable status effect. Slightly decreased movement speed. Basic attack has a slightly decreased lunge. 

    • Evil Within II: Moderately decreased Terror Radius. Slightly increased movement speed. Basic attack has a slightly increased lunge. 

    • Evil Within III: When triggered, all Survivors suffer from the Exposed status effect. Evil Within III lasts for 60 seconds, after which, it regresses to Evil Within II. 

    • Press and hold the Power button to stalk all visible Survivors. Stalking Survivors builds up your progress through Evil Within tiers. 

  • Killer Perks

    • Save The Best For Last: You become obsessed with one Survivor. Earn a token for each successful basic attack that is not dealt to the Obsession. Each Token grants a stackable decreased successful basic attack cooldown, you can earn up to tokens. Hitting your Obsession with a basic attack will cause you to lose tokens. You can no longer gain tokens if your Obsession is sacrificed or killed. 

    • Play With Your Food: You become obsessed with one Survivor. Every time you chase your obsession and let them escape, you receive a token up to a maximum of 3 tokens. Each token increases your movement speed. Each offensive action spends one token. 

    • Dying Light: You become obsessed with one Survivor. Your obsession gains an action speed bonus to unhooking and healing other Survivors. Each time you hook a Survivor other than the Obsession, if the Obsession is alive, gain a token. If the Obsession is alive, all Survivors who are not the Obsession get a penalty to Repair, Healing and Sabotage speeds for each token. 



Experience


This depends on how you view the 3 different timelines.


In the original Halloween storyline, Michael’s story goes from 1957 to 1995, making him 38 years old by the end of that timeline.


In the H20 timeline (By far the longest timeline in the entire series spanning 14 titles between comics, books and movies), Michael's story goes from 1957 to 2003, making him 46 years old by the final entry of that timeline. In this series he killed children and adults at a young age while still in confinement at Smith’s Groves. He’s also routinely always killed on Halloween for each of those years (Though he’s made efforts to kill on days other than just Halloween) His skill with a knife is so sharp that even skilled morticians at a morgue call his work efficient.


In the current 2018 timeline, Michael is 61, though he spent 40 of those years locked up after the events of the first film.

Skill, Intelligence & Other



Weaknesses


Michael has been known to have an unbridled rage that has led him into traps and taking hits he should have actively tried to avoid, like getting hit by cars or being blindsided by someone. Rituals based on positive energy have been known to neutralize his murderous intent. Most of his weapons require him to get up close, with people using ranged weapons usually giving them an advantage over his upclose fighting style.
