Really, really wants Mark to THINK
Hates trains
Born on the planet Viltrum, Nolan grew up as part of an empire, trained to fight under the most powerful force in the universe, and raised to be a conqueror. The Viltrumites were a brutal race, conquering planets across the galaxy and killing off their weakest members without mercy. As any true Viltrumite would, Nolan relished in combat, a proud commander of his people.
However, after their population was decreased to under 50 members by a deadly virus, the Viltrumites began to take a different approach. Instead of taking down planets by brutal force, individual Viltrumites were sent ahead to infiltrate each planet’s society, weakening it over time and preparing it for occupation by the Viltrumites as a whole.
One of these planets was Earth, and it was there that Nolan was sent. After infiltrating the planet, he married a woman named Debbie, started a family with her, and became a superhero in service of the planet: Omni-Man.
...Until the time came for the Viltrumite conquest to begin. When Nolan’s son Mark began to develop Viltrumite powers, Nolan knew it was time to take action. Swiftly slaughtering the planet’s greatest heroes, Nolan began his preparations to take over the planet, intending to do so with Mark at his side. Unfortunately for him, the truth soon came out, and Mark was less aligned with Nolan’s ideals than expected. Additionally, though he pretended not to, Nolan had come to care for the planet and his family, and after a brutal battle between father and son, he fled the planet, defecting from the Viltrumites and ultimately becoming a better man.
Nolan would go on to fight against the conquering army of Viltrumites, eventually reconciling with his family and returning to Earth a changed person. Additionally, as it turned out, he was descended from the late Viltrumite emperor, and eventually took control as their new leader. Unfortunately, this would put him into conflict with the power-hungry regent Thragg, who Nolan ultimately could not defeat, and he was left mortally wounded. However, Mark would go on to defeat Thragg in Nolan’s place, and on his deathbed, Nolan entrusted the future of the Viltrumites to his son, who would go on to bring a new era of peace to the universe.
Experience
Having lived for thousands of years, Omni-Man obviously possesses a wealth of experience in combat. He has trained under the Viltrumites for essentially his entire life, and has millenia of experience conquering planets and commanding his own unit. On top of that, he has decades of experience as a superhero on Earth.
Equipment
Suit
Superhero costume. Doesn’t serve much functional purpose beyond looking cool.
Abilities
Viltrumite Physiology
Thanks to their DNA, Viltrumites possess the ability to manipulate something called Smart Atoms, which make up their humanoid bodies. Rule of thumb: this is where practically all of Nolan’s abilities come from. Smart Atoms are essentially more advanced atoms with variable properties, and through manipulating them, Viltrumites can achieve a variety of superhuman feats. Things like producing greater force with their muscles, drawing more energy out of oxygen molecules, etc. correlate with this.
Superhuman Physicality
Nolan possesses herculean strength, faster-than-light speed, and near invulnerability. He can destroy planets, halt Texas-sized meteors, and fly millions of light years in a matter of weeks.
Flight
Just as it says on the tin, Nolan’s manipulation of smart atoms allows him to fly at high speeds, even reaching velocities exceeding light.
Regeneration
Nolan possesses an accelerated healing factor, allowing him to regenerate from extreme amounts of damage. Being comparable to Mark, he should be able to heal from things like getting punched through the stomach and having his guts ripped out, as well as getting his whole body severely burned after fighting inside a star. It has also been indicated that Viltrumites are capable of reattaching lost limbs. However, it has been shown that Viltrumites cannot recover from a crushed skull or damage to the heart.
Accelerated Development
Viltrumites like Nolan can improve their physical abilities at an accelerated rate through pushing the limits of their abilities. The rate of increase is quick enough that Mark was able to notice a difference in strength over the course of a single session of weight-lifting.
Superhuman Longevity
Viltrumites like Nolan can live for thousands of years.
Superhuman Lung Capacity
Nolan can hold his breath for extremely extensive periods of time. This is because his body is able to gain higher amounts of energy from each individual air molecule that he inhales. He can do so for up to two weeks at least.
Resistance to Absolute Zero
According to the Invincible handbook, Viltrumites like Nolan can withstand near absolute zero temperatures.
Various other resistances
It was established in episode 5 of the show that Viltrumite cells are resistant to drugs, viruses, bacteria, nanobots, and radioactives.
Feats
Overall
Formerly the strongest superhero on Earth
Defeated Invincible after a bloody battle
Killed the Guardians of the Globe (Darkwing, War Woman, Martian Man, Red Rush, Aquarus, Green Ghost, and Immortal)
Fought Mean Supreme to a draw
Temporarily became the leader of the Viltrumites
Strength
With help from Mark and Thaedus, smashed through the planet Viltrum and destroyed it.
Smashed Mark into a mountainside with enough force to fragment it.
Speed
Flew from Earth to Thraxa in a week. Thraxa is located in the Virgo supercluster.
Viltrumites in general are stated to be capable of traversing the galaxy under their own power.
Durability
Took a barrage of punches from Red Rush.
Took a blow to the head from War Woman.
Survived a blast from a satellite laser.
Survived a punch through the chest (sort of, he died later).
Scaling
Invincible (Mark Grayson): Nolan is superior to Mark for most of the series, and even toward the end, when Mark surpasses him, it is not by a completely massive margin.
Smashed Allen the Alien into the moon with enough force to dislodge massive chunks of rock.
Smashed Conquest into a planet, causing a crater and massive trenches in the process.
Moved fast enough to seemingly cause stellar parallaxes multiple times.
Stated to be capable of easily conquering the entire known universe. It’s pretty much impossible to interpret that in a way that wouldn’t make it MFTL+.
Allen the Alien: Nolan was comparable to Allen prior to Allen’s power boost, beating him repeatedly.
Omnipotus: Omnipotus was considered a lesser threat than Conquest by Cecil, and was also oneshot by Dinosaurus, even at full power, who was incapable of harming Thragg. Mark, whom Nolan scales to, also tanked Omnipotus’ full power exploding out of him.
(DEBATABLE) Absorbed and obliterated his home universe.
Universa: Nolan is comparable to Mark, who has fought and defeated Universa.
(DEBATABLE) Supreme: Nolan fought Supreme on equal footing, resulting in a draw.
Superior to Suprema, who can allegedly play kickball with a star.
Weaknesses
Attacks that hinder his equilibrium (typically specifically-tailored sound attacks) should be effective on him, as they have shown to be against Mark.
His interior durability is not as high as his exterior durability.
Damage to his brain and heart can still kill him in spite of his healing factor.
