Character Analysis: Red Team(Feat Akuma)

Background

History

(Relevant story and plot of the character)

Season 17 - https://roosterteeth.com/series/red-vs-blue

Super Colonel Sarge

Before being assigned to the Reds, Sarge was an Orbital Drop Shock Trooper for the United Nations Space Command. After being discharged, he was reassigned to the Project Freelancer program. He served in the Battle of Broken Ridge during that time before he got assigned to Blood Gulch. He was chosen to be the Leader after Sarge’s actions indirectly caused the deaths of fellow candidates for the position. With Grif and Simmons, he lead Red Team to face the Blue Team without question.

Captain Richard "Dick" Simmons

Before being part of Red Team, Simmons was deployed in a simulation outpost called Danger Canyon. When having to cross a narrow bridge, Simmons got scared and refused to take an order from his Drill Sergeant. This caused him to get fired, as in being shot, by Drill Sergeant Hammer. Because of this incident, Simmons alongside Hammer and Grif were sent to Timberland to find Red Survivors and intel. Simmons once again refuses the orders of Hammer, which lead to Hammer entering the base and being killed by a bomb. After the incident, Simmons was chosen to join Red Team in Blood Gulch.

Captain Dexter Grif

Grif was a college drop out when he enlisted in the Red Army. Like Simmons, Grif refused to cross a narrow bridge despite being ordered to. Unlike Grif, it was because he was late and lazy. So his story is basically the same as Simmon's before coming to Blood Gulch.

Private Franklin Delano Donut

Not much is known about Donut’s past before Blood Gulch, but he arrived as a rookie to be the newest member of Team Red. On his first day on the job, he was sent to find Headlight Fluid but instead captured the Blue Team’s flag. He was issued a “lightish-red” Armor as congratulations for a successful first day.

Lopez the Heavy

Created by Sarge, Lopez’s history all begins in Blood Gulch. Red Command sent him a robot kit and Sarge used it to create Lopez. But the thing was there was no speech unit with it. When Donut arrived with it, it got damaged which resulted in Lopez only being able to speak Spanish, even when an english speaking AI takes over his body. Despite being built by the Reds, he doesn’t like them at all.

Arsenal

(Current equipment the character most likely could take to battle)

Weapons

  • Shotgun (Sarge): Primary weapon of Sarge. It varies in the Halo Universe.

  • Magnum (All): An M6 Series Magnum which is standard issue to every soldier.

  • Battle Rifle (All but Sarge): A standard issue weapon that most of them are able to use, but Sarge refuses as he uses a Shotgun most of the time.

  • SMG (All but Sarge): A Submachine Gun which is also standard issue.

  • Rocket Launcher (Simmons): Simmons’s unique weapon to him, he can use a regular Rocket Launcher or a Guided Rocket Launcher in the Animated Pilot. Sarge has also used this weapon, but mostly for Grif. Also has heat seeking - https://youtu.be/R37XLt0hVAU?t=275 And it is confirmed to be called the SPNKR - https://youtu.be/PXsvwaayZ4M?t=103

  • Combat Knife: (Sarge/Simmons): A bladed weapon to help in close quarters combat. Only has been used in PSAs, but I don’t see why they couldn’t have it.

  • Brute Shot (Grif): Taken from the Meta, Grif now is in possession of the Brute Shot, which Boomstick demonstrated in a previous Death Battle.

  • Suppressor (Grif/Lopez): For a while, Grif also used a Suppressor. It fires multiple bolts of hard light. After Carolina dropped it, Grif decided to use it to help in a fight and even grew to like it. But it is currently broken. Lopez has also been shown to use one.

  • Great Key (Grif): Atlus gave Grif a Great Key. But since his version was not created by Santa's creators, we don't know if it works similarly to Tucker's. The others were also given similar weapons, but were taken away afterwards. https://youtu.be/foa_YmLIry0?t=382

  • Time-Portal Gun (All): An energy weapon-esque device that shoots portals that allows for one to travel through time and space. Donut was given this weapon by the Chrovos but he handed it to the Reds and Blues. There are 5 of them.  https://youtu.be/Cm7CoI9yE0Y?t=456 https://youtu.be/Cm7CoI9yE0Y?t=528

  • The Hammer (Donut): A Gravity Hammer good for smashing.

  • Missile Pod (Lopez): A Missile Launching Weapon that is designed to fire small missiles at a quick firing rate.

  • Heavy Machine Gun Turret (Lopez): A powerful gatling-style machine gun that usually is on the Warthog. Lopez can sue it without it.
