Cole MacGrath was just a regular bike messenger, someone you wouldn’t notice delivering packages to people you’d never know. Until one day, a package he’d pick up would change his life forever. This package would be a bomb known as the Ray Sphere, which would explode leading to the destruction of 6 city blocks, with Cole at its center. After finding his way to medics and nearly dying, Cole soon found out he had the power of Electrokinesis, and was now a “Conduit”, a term used for people with powers unlocked by the Ray Sphere. After the blast, most of the infrastructure of Empire City went into disarray, as the entire city was closed off in quarantine due to a plague that was started by the blast. This left the city to become a violent wasteland where thugs and marauders roamed freely.

Running into NSA agent Moya, he would come to find out that the entire Ray Sphere blast activated his latent abilities within himself, as portions of humanity have what is known as the conduit gene. The Ray Sphere took all the neuro-electric energy from the people around him and focused into himself. This was facilitated by Kessler, another conduit and the leader of the First Sons, a secret organization dedicated to the advancement of humankind through transhuman means. An ally by the name of John White would assist Cole in providing him intelligence of the First Sons, but would eventually be swallowed by another Ray Sphere that Cole would destroy. Cole would cross paths and beat down other conduits that would cross his path, like the mind control tar producing Sasha or the powerful psychic Alden who were exerting their control on the streets of Empire City.

Eventually Kessler would give Cole a choice, save the love of his life Trish Walker, or a group of doctors that would help save the city. Cole would end up saving the doctors, losing Trish in the process. Cole would then go on to do anything possible to get revenge, fighting Kessler himself in a complete death match. Upon Kessler’s defeat, he would show Cole a vision of a beast hell bent on destroying everything in its path. It’s then revealed that everything that led up to this point was because Kessler is Cole’s future self, killing the woman he loved and countless other people to make Cole into the person who would change the world for the better.

Eventually NSA Agent Lucy Kuo would contact Cole, and reveal that she has had tabs on all the information provided by the First Sons, and she has a plan to power up Cole so he can prepare for the Beast’s arrival. Before anything can happen though, the Beast would suddenly appear in Empire City, and Cole would end up keeping the Beast at bay only for it to screw with his powers in the process. After a last ditch effort to destroy the beast, it would reform good as new and make its way towards Cole destroying everything in its path.

On their way to New Marais, Zeke creates a weapon called the Amp, capable of harnessing Cole’s electrical ability. Unfortunately, an anti conduit militia run by militia leader Bertrand paraded the streets. He would then run into Professor Sebastian Wolfe, who created the RFI, was a device created by Dr. Sebastian Wolfe, as a counter-measure to the Ray Field Plague. The device, as its name suggests, inhibits Ray Field Energy, functioning like an anti-Ray Sphere. In order to use the machine Cole would have to power up on blast cores that would strengthen his abilities. He would need this as Bertrand’s anti-conduit militia was growing. In the meantime, Cole would meet a fellow conduit by the name of Nix. Kuo, after being captured by the militia, had her conduit powers activated and gained the powers of ice.

Eventually they’d find a power transfer device, which would not only empower Cole but give him the power of another conduit. He chooses Kuo, and gets her icy abilities.

Cole would eventually find out that Bertrand was also a conduit masquerading as a savior, and was secretly creating conduits available for sale overseas at combating military forces. Not only did Cole have to stop a plague kickstarted by the Ray Sphere, but he now had to stop an all out conduit offensive that now threatened the world over. With little time to think, The Beast would arrive in New Marais, and is revealed to be John White, a former ally that was swallowed by another Ray Sphere. John would give Cole a new choice, create new conduits at the expense of human life to stop the plague, or use the ray field inhibitor to end all conduit life but stop the plague, saving millions more.

Though a hard decision to make, Cole would beat down John, completing his destiny, and using the RFI to save humankind, dying in the process. Cole is a true hero, obviously capable of risking his own life for the good of others, and defeating a monster that would’ve ended up destroying the planet had his future self not gone to the past. While brash sometimes he always makes a good call, and will always try to help others no matter the cost. (Unless you’re his evil half, in which case, everything ends badly for everyone)

Skills/Abilities

4 years before Cole had even gotten powers or settled in Empire City, he and his best friend Zeke practiced Parkour if ever in a tough situation with the cops. So he was a professional in urban exploration even before he got his powers which improved his mobility even more.

Cole was also 6 credits away from graduating college but left because he didn’t like his teacher. He also technically has the memories of his future selves timeline, which includes Kessler’s time as the leader of the First Sons.

Arsenal

Amp - After getting his powers screwed up from fighting the Beast for the first time, Cole helped Zeke create a device to help harness his electric powers. It’s his main weapon of choice. It can not only be used to break shields but ring people and monsters around the neck and flipping them around with utter ease. It’s not clear how much this weapon can take before it gives out, but it survives being used as a bat against other Conduit’s, monsters, and various other things.

Electrokinesis

After surviving the blast from the Ray Sphere, Cole was given the power of electrokinesis. Basic electric attacks can chain off conductive surfaces causing electricity to chain more damage onto foes. In the first game after re-establishing circuits in underground transformers, Cole was given additional powers and abilities, giving him different variants of his electrical attacks. He can also siphon and control the neuro-electric energy of others. Any outside electricity he absorbs heals him of his injuries.

Bolts

Alpha Bolt - Just a basic lightning bolt with really no added stat bonus. Has a high rate of fire and good accuracy, but lacks good range and damage.

Pincer Bolt - A cunning electrical attack that strikes a foe from 3 sides simultaneously. Each individual bolt has just about as much power as a standard Alpha bolt, but has 3 times the range of one with some lacking rate of fire.

Artillery Bolt - Fires a bolt similar to the Alpha bolt but has a longer range and stronger impact on enemies.

Magnum Bolt - A bolt used by Cole in the first Infamous game and a bolt of condensed lightning that hits like an actual thunderbolt.

Bolt Stream - A pounding stream of bolts. Has a very fast and continuous blast rate that overwhelms enemies more than any other bolt Cole has in his arsenal. Essentially acts like an electric machine gun.

Blasts

Alpha Blast - A strong kinetic shockwave strong enough to send objects as big as cars flying into the air. It along with all the other blasts Cole can use are also capable of reflecting projectile attacks.

Sniper Blast - An extra long-range blast with a narrow area of effect. Has the longest range of any other blast in Cole’s arsenal.

Lightning Hook - A long line of electro kinetic energy that works like a tether that pulls in objects from humans to cars with no problem.

Detonation Blast - A swirling ball of caged kinetic energy that sticks to whatever it hits, eventually exploding on the object it stuck to. Cole can harness the energy within this blast for a super jump if he’s near it.

Graviton Blast - This blast lowers the gravity of anything it hits, leaving enemies spiraling helplessly in the air.

Shatter Blast - Cole creates a handful of icicles, and blasts them at enemies.

Grenades

Shock Grenades - Grenades in the original Infamous game. They are similar to how Alpha Grenades work in the second infamous game, but can automatically restrain enemies after exploding.

Alpha Grenade - A potent electric charge that releases a tremendous amount of kinetic energy when detonated.

Stalker Grenade - A grenade that homes in on the nearest enemy, and then explodes.

Electrocution Grenade - A grenade that paralyzes enemies before eventually exploding.

Sticky Grenade - A very self explanatory grenade that sticks onto enemies before exploding. It can also bounce off walls for more “stylish” throws.

Ice Grenade - A grenade that creates ice spikes as soon as it hits the ground, and is capable of either freezing an opponent or striking outwards with ice spikes knocking enemies away if they’re not frozen. It can also provide shelter from long ranged attacks

Cluster Grenade - The most destructive and powerful grenade in Coles arsenal. This grenade splits into multiple grenades as soon as it is thrown into the air, Cole throws a flurry of sticky grenades that makes it near impossible to miss without sticking onto something.

Rockets

Alpha Rocket - A huge condensed flying ball of kinetic energy. This and any other rocket in Cole’s electricity powers causes the most destruction out of any other electricity power he has.

Redirect Rocket - After firing a rocket and possibly missing, Cole can shoot his target with a regular bolt of electricity and this rocket will immediately change course and home in on what Cole has shot.

Freeze Rocket - A very large condensed ball of sub-zero gas that will instantly freeze anything it comes in contact with.

Sticky Rocket - This rocket splits into 3 homing rockets once thrown and sticks onto an enemy acting like a sticky rocket but with more destructive impact then a grenade.

Misc. Powers

Radar Pulse - Cole can emit a small electric pulse that allows him to sense nearby electricity. Since people have electricity within themselves, he can sense people, and in the second game after encountering John, he was granted the ability to see through people's bodies in order to see the plague. He can also use this to spot enemies that shapeshift from human to conduit.

Gigawatt Drain - After Cole has used up all of his electricity, he can drain more electricity from the nearest electrical appliance and replenish his electricity and health.

Righteous Strike: Restores a significant amount of energy each time you hit an enemy. Head shots also restore health.

Induction Grind - Cole can grind on wires and train tracks. This regenerates his health, and refills his energy supply.

Induction Launch -  The vertical version of induction grind. This allows Cole to scale up poles and launch into the air.

Thunder Drop - Cole manipulates the static electricity forming around his body as he falls to the ground, creating a shockwave powerful enough to flip people and cars. This power increases the more Cole falls.

Psychic Vision - After placing his hand near someone’s head, Cole can see that person's memories and somehow the future.

Kinetic Pulse - This gives Cole the power of electromagnetism and lifts anything from barrels to cars with little effort. This charges whatever Cole lifts and causes a small scale explosion to whatever Cole hits with the object he electromagnetically controls.

Lightning Tether - This electrokinetic tether that pulls Cole into whatever it hits. This works kind of like Spiderman’s webbing but with electricity instead, giving him the ability to scale buildings faster and get around better

Ice Launch - Cole creates a frozen column of ice that launches himself skyward for a huge jump.

Polarity Wall - An electrically powered shield that can block gunfire and converts the energy given off from the bullets into fuel for Cole’s powers. There is another variant of this power given in Infamous 2 called the Frost Shield that also stops bullets and ice beams and converts the energy given off of them into fuel for Cole’s powers as well.

Precision - This power allows Cole to perceive things at slower rates, allowing him to dilate time and zoom into an enemy creating a “bullet time” effect.

Static Thrusters - Cole can glide through the air before slowly descending to the ground. In the second game it can be upgraded to propel Cole through the air for a small “second jump” and then works as a glider afterwards.

Car Jump - Cole can discharge electricity within the car he is standing on, and jump off it with electricity strengthening his jump.

Arc Restraint - Cole can restrain people and other conduits at their wrists and ankles

Bio Leech - One evil karma power always available to Cole no matter what Karma he is aligned to. This power allows Cole to drain the neuroelectric energy found within our bodies to heal himself completely and refill his electric storage.

Gigawatt Blades - Blades of condensed electrical energy that form at Cole's hands and allow him to cut through just about anything. In the comics, Cole fought David who had just survived an explosion of an entire building, and Cole cut through him with ease.

Karmic Overload - After building up a certain amount of “karma,” Cole is granted unlimited energy for a short amount of time

Overcharge -  Reminiscent of Karmic Overload, if Cole is connected to an electric generator, he will have an electric aura that will electrify anyone that comes close.

Ionic Powers

In the second game, Cole was given “Ionic Powers” which were powers that could be saved within Ionic charges. Cole can have up to 3 Ionic charges at a time before they run out, and more can only be obtained if Cole defeats an enemy and they release them. (Though this can be seen as a game mechanic)

Ionic Storm/Lightning Storm - Though not originally called Ionic Storm in the first game, Cole uses a super powerful Lightning Storm where he can summon huge bolts of lightning from the sky at the expense of his energy, and he can control it to either move or surround himself with lightning. Lightning storm was changed to Ionic storm, and while in the first game it used up Cole’s electric storage the Ionic storm only uses up a charge and keeps Cole’s electricity storage unaffected. In one mission, Cole drained lightning from the sky to replenish his energy, and did so regularly without any effort or use of his charges or energy.

Ionic Vortex - The “First” Ionic ability Cole gets in the second game in which he releases a spiraling tornado that is powerful enough to lift cars and other various objects, being said to “tear through the world.”

Ionic Freeze - Cole generates a massive wave of jagged ice that instantly freezes everything in his path. Cole can also selectively choose what he freezes, so he can control what the spikes focus on as well.

Strength/AP Feats

Cole can summon entire storms with his electric powers, having full control of the weather summoning lightning and tornado storms.

The Beast destroyed Empire City in one blast. Cole later stalemates and later defeats the beast, so at minimum he should be around this level.

Cole can also augment his physical attacks with his lightning, giving him a boost in strength.

His lightning is powerful enough to puncture through and sink an entire armored aircraft carrier.

He can also down entire Helicopters in a single blast of electricity. He can lift them as well.

And finally, Cole’s polarity wall and frost shield absorb enemy fire and convert it into energy.

Speed

Cole can react to and dodge machine gun fire. He can also react to rocket fire fast enough to deflect and dodge it

Cole dodged a Ray Sphere blast that exploded right as he was next to it. Ray Sphere's release radiation, and Cole had no issue reacting to the blast. While he dodged the blast, it swallowed John White, who was actually standing further away from it than Cole was, yet Cole was able to get away first.

Cole can also manually route the electricity within a grid through wires.

In the evil Cole storyline for Infamous 2, Nix uses the RFI (Which also uses radiation) to fire a laser at Cole. This laser fires in multiple frames and Cole can react to it. This gets about 50% the speed of light.

Durability

The very first thing that happens to Cole is he survives a blast that destroys 6 city blocks, reducing it to rubble and vaporizing hundreds of people around him. knocked him out but he fought the Beast who has the same exact powers as the Ray Sphere and Cole can endure his attacks.

Cole’s AP should scale to his physical endurance and durability.

Feats

Resisted Sasha's mind control tar

Survived the Ray Sphere blast that totaled 6 city blocks

Ice attacks are sub-zero

Survived getting the neuro electricity in his body getting drained

Died a true hero

Defeated Sasha, Alden, Kessler, David, Bertrand, Kuo & The Beast

Weaknesses

Though Cole is very skilled with his powers, he was never able to fully realize his abilities because he died so soon. If he touches water he will immediately get shocked and possibly die if he’s in it for too long. He can run out of electricity, and will have to drain the nearest electrical appliance in order to refill himself.
