Reverse-Flash (Professor Zoom)
Background
Thawne is a villain from the 25th century. His backstory has changed a bit over the years but the general idea is the same, and he has been the same character with technically the same continuity up until the present. Eobard Thawne was a fan of the Flash, Barry Allen 500 years after Barry’s time as a superhero. He grew so obsessed with his idol that upon finding Barry’s costume in a time capsule, he experimented on it to give himself Barry’s same super powers. He then attempted to carry on the mantle of the Flash by acting as a superhero. However, 25th century society was essentially devoid of meaningful conflict, so he began to orchestrate his own crimes in order to come in and save the day, appearing to others to be a hero.
Barry eventually time travelled to the 25th century and met up with Eobard, and the two became friends for a short while, with Barry teaching Thawne about heroics. Upon finding out about Thawne’s tactics, however, he defeated him and sent Thawne to jail. In order to live up to his hero’s legacy, Thawne tried to better himself and eventually went back in time to the 21st century to prove he had changed and to become Barry’s sidekick. Upon finding out that Barry already had a sidekick and that Thawne “wasn’t special,” as well as his discovery that Flash’s greatest villain, the Reverse-Flash, whom Barry had killed in battle, was actually Thawne himself, Thawne suffered a mental breakdown and became determined to ruin Barry’s life through any means necessary. The only thing he really wanted, though, was to spend time with his hero.

Negative Speed Force
Thawne’s attempt to gain the same super speed powers as Barry also replicated Barry’s creation of the Speed Force. However, Thawne created an opposing entity called the Negative Speed Force that is generated with every step he takes and that feeds off of the regular Speed Force like a cancer. It was stated years ago to nearly match the regular Speed Force in size, and because Thawne does not share it with anyone else he could theoretically reach greater speeds than any other regular Speed Force user.

The exact mechanism that controls this is unclear, but it’s connected to his status as a living paradox. Every time Thawne is killed he will automatically resurrect after a given amount of time (the only time referenced is a couple of days) and be back to normal. This applies regardless of his body’s total destruction, as he once came back to life after being totally disintegrated. While this might not count in most fights since his death would signal a defeat regardless of his eventual return, the fact that Thawne can time travel back to the moment of his death means that the fight can continue immediately.

Weaknesses
Thawne does not have many weaknesses. He is generally overconfident and cocky, fond of the villain monologue, and often blinded by his hatred of Barry. This will lead to him making incredibly stupid mistakes instead of capitalizing on his advantages. Physically, he needs to keep the bottoms of his feet solid when intangible to keep standing on the ground, so they can be damaged if he’s not paying attention.
