Ultra Death Battle and Screwattack blogs: Character analysis:Wonder woman(Feat Hero)

Background

Diana of Themyscira is an Amazon warrior sent to the outside world to be their representative for their philosophy of spreading love and peace. Kind of sends mixed messages when that philosophy involves punching and stabbing so many things, but I digress.

Like many long-running comic characters, Wondy has had her backstory retconned a few times, once being made of clay (it was essentially a cover-up story to protect Diana from Zeus’s wife, Hera), now currently the demigod daughter of the Olympian Zeus and Hippolyta, Queen of the Amazons. She has dedicated her life to conquering the evils of the world including Ares, his sons Phobos and Deimos, Cheetah, and nearly the entire DC Rogue’s Gallery. For a time, she took Ares’ place as Goddess of War (sorry Kratos, a girl beat you to it).

She was trained by her mother Hippolyta and Artemis, goddess of the hunt, and is one of the founding members of the Justice League.

Her current character arc involves her having an identity crisis due to her Pre-Crisis, Post-Crisis and New 52 selves merging together and having the same memories due to the DC Universe Rebirth event*.

Arsenal

Bolt of Zeus
Basically what it sounds like. A magical bolt/spear of energy that Diana claims can destroy mountains, which isn’t too far off from what we’ve actually seen it do.

Lasso of Truth
Wondy’s most iconic weapon. A magic rope that compels others to reveal the truth. Was crafted using threads from Aphrodite’s magic girdle and enchanted to never break, can also be used to force others to do her bidding. Also referred to as the “Golden True”. It also seems to able to purify DNA of abnormalities and nullify powers if they aren’t natural to the user.

Bracelets of Submission
“Two magic bracelets that can deflect both projectiles and blunt attacks. The Bracelets are comprised of the godly Eighth Metal, one of the strongest elements in the Multiverse.[112] They are almost indestructible, capable of withstanding even such force as Darkseid's Omega Beams.” -DC Wiki

Silver Age comics depict these as sort of inhibitors that prevent her from going berserk, but obviously this has been retconned since.

Themysciran Sword
A magical sword so sharp it can rend subatomic particles.

Themysciran Shield
Often used to deflect and block bullets, tanks shells, and missiles. Also uses it as a blunt to smack enemies around.

Invisible Plane
A vehicle that was originally the plane that Steve Trevor crashed on Paradise Island, rebuilt by the Amazons with Eighth Metal armor. Invisible and highly durable.

Abilities

Divine Empowerment
Diana was gifted with the abilities of Olympian Gods on top of already being a demigod and immortal Amazon.

Flight
Ability to fly(You don't say hero:Ultraguy)

Multilingual
Can speak all Earth languages, including ancient ones.

Zoopathy
Can speak to animals. Supposedly an ability she picked up from carrying the Lasso for so long.

Dispelling
Able to dispel magic and poison gases

Regeneration
Accelerated healing, recovers from wounds within seconds and never runs out of blood.

Immortality
Never seems to age past her thirties despite being hundreds of years old, will never die of old age.

Empathy
The ability to sense emotions. She can also manipulate them to an extent to calm others, especially with animals.

This is for simplicity’s sake and to keep track of the sources of each feat, though technically they are all the same continuity as of Rebirth, where the discrepancy between “Pre” and “Post” is now removed. It’s all canon now.

So… a LOT of context to go over here. In the Justice League’s last encounter with Darkseid, he got killed and has recently been reborn as a baby. His daughter, Glave, has been systematically killing demigods to feed him and help him grow. This includes Hercules, an absolute powerhouse who fought a villain who was essentially all Oympian gods fused into one (see the link to the Respect Thread I posted on the bottom). Wondy then fights both Glave and her demigod brother Jason at the same time and absolutely ragdolls them both. #Scaling
