Character Analysis: Storm(Feat Lousy)

Background

Real Name: Ororo Munroe

Height: 5’11 | 180 cm

Weight: 145lbs | 65.7 kg

-Nicknamed ‘Waverider’

-Formerly married to Wakanda King T’Challa

-Former Thief & Weather Goddess

Ororo Munroe was born in Harlem to photojournalist David Munroe and N’Dare, a former priestess from Africa revered by a Kenyan tribe. Shortly after her birth her parents moved to Cairo Egypt, where they lived for several years. Until Ororo turned 6, and a dogfight in the midst of the Suez War caused a plane to crash into a building, crushing Ororo’s parents beneath the debris, and nearly killing her, leaving her trapped for several days.

With nowhere to go, Ororo was taken in by a master thief named Achmed El-Gibár, who taught her and other orphans how to survive on the streets. She spent several years with the group until she turned 12, and ventured on her own from Cairo to the Serengeti Plain, meeting and rescuing T’Challa along the way. When she reached her destination, she was taken in by a tribe priestess, Ainet. Within the tribe, Ororo was worshipped as a goddess due to the prosperity her weather abilities brought.

She would spend years keeping the tribe prosperous until being visited by Charles Xavier. Who revealed that she was in-fact a mutant, and offered to help her learn to better use her powers. Intrigued, Ororo accepted his offer and joined the X-Men, gaining the moniquor of Storm, becoming one of the key members, and for a long time, the X-Men’s leader. Alongside her mutant allies, she fought numerous villains, and eventually lost her powers, but in typical comic book fashion got them back, and even when she didn’t have them continued leading the X-Men.

She would eventually return to Africa, and marry her childhood love and the Prince of Wakanda, T’Challa, AKA Black Panther. Ultimately, complications arose between her citizenship with the U.S where she was born and the land of Wakanda she had come to call home that brought her and Black Panther into the events of Marvel’s Civil War.

More recently her marriage has been annulled due to conflict between the Avengers and the X-Men. Though Storm and T’Challa did manage to get back on good terms. Storm now leads the X-Men as the one and only leader, keeping the team together as she has so many other times in the past.

Experience

Storm has lived the life of a thief, a goddess, an X-Man, a queen, and much more. As such she has a variety of experience in fighting, thievery, and weather control.

-Storm was trained to be a thief when she was 6 years old by Achmed El-Gibár.

-After her training she travelled from Cairo to the Serengeti Plain when she was just 12 years old. Over the course of her journey, she met and rescued T’Challa, and got into quite a few battles.

-During her time with the X-Men, Storm underwent intense training in the Danger Room, regularly training 6 hours a day, 5 days a week. Part of this Danger Room training consisted of dodging and deflecting lasers.

-After Cyclops left, Storm became the de facto leader of the X-Men

-Storm has regularly demonstrated quick thinking and strategies to work around other powers. Such as when she devised a strategy to subdue Rogue without physically touching her.

-Even after losing her powers, Storm continued to lead the X-Men, and managed to hold her own against many of the threats with just her hand-to-hand skill.

-Taking down several thugs using a staff.

-Winning a duel against Cyclops with trickery alone.

-Defeating Crimson Commando in hand-to-hand.

-Taking down some… Owl… Snake thing.

-While married to T’Challa, Storm helped lead the nation of Wakanda as well, and had to regularly deal with her husband’s body-guards who were pining for her position at the throne, eventually fighting them when she was falsely declared a traitor.

-Storm’s time mastering her powers has made her very adept at weather control. Enough to  block and hold back all the debris from an exploding building with enough precision to prevent a single piece from hitting any of the hundreds of nearby civilians.

Equipment

Lockpicks: Even as a member of the X-Men, Storm regularly keeps lockpicks on-hand in the off chance that she needs to break into somewhere, or out of some cuffs.

Staff: Storm will occasionally use a staff to fight foes, though usually gets more use out of her own mutant abilities.

Abilities

Beyond superhuman Strength, Speed, and Durability, Storm has...

Master Thief: Storm was trained from a young age to be a thief, and as such is a master of pickpocketing, sleight-of-hand, and lockpicking.

-Her sleight of hand skills.

-Her lockpicking skills.

Master of Hand-to-Hand: Storm’s time with the X-Men, battling other villains, and various training has made her a master of hand-to-hand combat. She has managed to non-lethally subdue Callisto in a knife-fight, a mutant with Wolverine level strength, who has mastered every known form of martial combat.

-Fighting off a group of a Kahn’s highly trained ‘consorts’.

Mind Control Resistance: Storm has demonstrated exceptional willpower and the ability to stave off mental attacks.

-Breaking free of Dracula’s mind control.

-Fighting off an illusion of her greatest fear.

Weather Manipulation: Storm’s bread and butter in fighting is manipulating the weather. Her influence over the weather is tied to her thoughts and emotions. Meaning movement is not necessary for her to manipulate her environment. Simply ‘less than a conscious thought’ is all she needs to summon a hurricane.

-Creating a storm while imprisoned.

Her weather manipulation extends outside the planet Earth. She can change the weather conditions even in completely foreign dimensions such as The Hill, and alter solar winds.

She can also somehow use her weather powers to quickly change clothes. She claims this is done by manipulating the ‘unstable molecules’ within her clothing.

She can manipulate the atmosphere and weather patterns around the world for a variety of things such as…

Weather Pattern Sensory Vision: Storm can see and view the weather patterns around her as ‘colors’ through a pseudo-6th sense.

-Viewing the world as ‘energy’.

-With this 6th sense, she can track allies and foes around her.

-Storm can sense when others have manipulated or altered the weather.

-The scope of her sensory powers spans the entire planet, which is what allowed her to sense a blackbird being flown across New York while she was in Wakanda.

Flight: Storm can manipulate the winds and atmospheres to maneuver through the sky. She can do this even in the depths of space through solar winds.

-She can carry others along with her winds as well.

Tornado & Wind Creation: Storm can utilize the winds around her for offensive purposes too.

-Destroying a house with a tornado.

-Blowing several enemies away with wind.

-Storm’s control over the air allows her to quickly adapt to, and remain unaffected by changes in gravity.

-Her manipulation of air can be fine-tuned enough to function on a molecular level, or broad enough span an entire planet.

Lightning Blasts: Storm can concentrate lightning bolts into her hands to be fired. Note: This is real lightning she is utilizing. Storm’s mutant powers are technically not magic, and she can just as easily summon lightning from her hands as she can from the sky.

-It being stated the lightning is moving at 100,000 miles an hour.

-Storm summoning an onslaught of lightning

-She can use this lightning to electrify metallic objects and surfaces.

-Can create EMPs and electrical fields.

-Dispersed a cage made out of electricity.

-Resuscitating Cable through an electrical shock

-Note that Storm’s lightning blasts can be far more powerful and destructive than natural lightning since she can concentrate them into a localized area.

-She can call down lightning to parts of the world that are continents away.

Tsunamis and Floods: Storm can create quick surges of water in an instant.

-Dispatching several thugs with a quick flood of water.

-Creating a tidal wave.

Blizzards and Ice Storms: Storm can rapidly freeze the environment around her, and alter weather for localized blizzards.

-Creating a miniature blizzard around Magneto.

-Shattering a metallic suit using freezing rain.

-Using her control over the temperature of the atmosphere to influence the behavior of bees.

-Freezing lava.

-Protecting herself from temperature changes.

-Can freeze steel so it becomes brittle enough to shatter with a mere touch.

-Can create giant glaciers of ice.

-Can create a hail storm.

-Can create a katabatic blizzard.

-Dropping the surrounding temperature by 200 degrees to render a gun inoperable.

Fog Creation: Storm can create fog around the environment to keep herself concealed.

Atmospheric Creation: Storm can generate an atmosphere around herself and foes. This is what lets her survive the vacuum of space, and use lightning in it too.

-Creating oxygen underwater.

-Storm can utilize this atmospheric creation to mess with the auditor senses of those around her as distractions.

Oxygen Deprivation: If Storm can create oxygen, she can naturally take away the oxygen within the lungs of foes too.

Magic Potential: While not particularly important for the purposes of the fight, it’s worth noting Storm’s ancestry of priestesses has made her very magically potent. Though she typically sticks to her mutant powers.

Scaling

Storm is noted for being one of the most powerful mutants on Earth, has been fighting alongside the X-Men for years, and has proven a match for powerful mutants such as Lorna Dane (Magneto’s daughter). She should scale to most of the other X-Men, and various mid-tier Marvel characters, and should be well-above any street level hero and their speed.

Lorna Dane

-Punched a hole through the Earth to the planet’s core using her electromagnetic energy. (, Giant-Size X-Men, Issue 1, Page 35)

Spider-Man

-Evaded and dodged light-speed attacks. Marvel Team-Up, Issue 113, Page 19)

Weaknesses

Storm’s memories of her parents’ death and being trapped under the rubble that killed them has made her deathly claustrophobic. This has caused her to become distraught and lose control of her powers in the past. However, it should be mentioned that she has overcome this fear in the past, and that more often than not, her losing control just makes her all the more dangerous.

  1. Hey ultraguy why didnt your ry to debunk iron fis therald feats like knocking out namor, luke cage, shou Lao killing the Phoenix ect. Which you yourself put his analysis blog?

  2. Multiple things wrong with this, not even accounting for the horrible spelling.
    1. Ultraguy didn't even really make the Iron Fist analysis blog. Which would have been pretty clear if you actually had bothered to read the title.
    2. This is completely irrelevant to the actual post itself.
    3. Luke Cage isn't herald
    4. Literally all of the other stuff has context. Iron Fist didn't even hurt Phoenix-empowered Namor. He sneak attacked him from behind and the most it did was make Namor bend over. Namor recovered completely in literally the next panel, more pissed off than anything else. And for the other one, lemme quote someone else: "Not only does the scan imply the dragon shown isn’t the same one that supposedly fought Phoenix, but frankly (and I hate to use this word), this feat would be a massive, massive outlier in hindsight because Danny had to kill the dragon to gain its powers. And it’s pretty obvious Danny isn’t consistently punching out Nightmare or Odin, so this feat at most is super moot."

    1. Apparently this was just posted as a regular comment. To clarify, this is a reply to the one above.

    2. Ultraguy is a death battle researcher so why the hell did they put hurting namor with 1/5 the power of the Phoenix force in the first place . His goal to debunk all herald iron fist feats. Luke cage has literally fought the thing blow for blow equally lmao .Yes he did hurt him and iron fist has knocked out namor in the past . He was verbally hurt . Also imagine calling this a outlier when you people put po at planet level when has has zero feats on that level lmao
