Character analysis:Genos


 Backstory


Essentially Genos’s parodies a lot of stock shonen origin stories. He in his family lived in a town that was attacked and destroyed by a mad cyborg. Genos was left as the sole survivor and was found by Dr.Kuseno who was chasing after said cyborg. Genos wanting to avenge his family asked the doctor to convert him into a cyborg capable of fighting. He eventually becomes attracted to Saitama due to his overwhelming strength and attempts to become his disciple to become stronger. Him joining the hero association was mainly just due to him suggesting it to Saitama and him going along with it once Saitama was on board.

Cybernetic Bodies
Genos is obviously a cyborg. His limbs and body are far more durable and stronger than most and can be modified with an assortment of weapons. Throughout the series, Genos has gotten multiple upgrades for his body. Most models are fairly similar to each other, and collectively he’s gotten upgrades to help protect against shock, acid, heat, as well as substantially increase his speed and overall power.

Core
A powerful energy device installed in Geno’s chest. It seemingly powers most of his abilities. Genos can in times of need rip it out of his main body and place it into slots in his weaponry to significantly boost their strengths.

Rocket boosters
Genos has powerful boosters on his back, legs, and elbows. They allow him to move at high speeds or fly limitedly in the air.

Weapons

Incinerator canons
Powerful fire-based cannons installed in Geno’s hands. Like the name implies he can use them to blast and incinerate opponents from a distance. Genos can control his power output with these weapons making huge explosions or smaller spurts of energy

Spiral incinerator
A more powerful variant of the incinerator canon. It combines two of Genos’s arms together for a more powerful spiraling blast.

Ultra helix incinerator 
The strongest variant of Genos’s incinerator canon. It fires blasts of energy directly out of the core in his chest.

Adhesive
A sticky adhesive Genos can spray on the ground. It can be used to immobilize fast opponents.

Self destruct
A self-destruction ability. It kills Genos if he uses it.

Arm-Blades
Extendable arm blades that Genos can use for slicing enemies. He has one on each arm.

Arm missiles
Missiles that can be launched from Genos’s arms as a long range attack.

Hi voltage fist
 An ability to charge his arms with electrical energy to shock opponents.

Detachable body parts
After being torn apart multiple times in various fights Genos was upgraded to be able to remotely control and reattach severed body parts. This includes his arms, legs and his entire torso. The arms can also tie opponents up with wiring or be extended on a wire-like hook for powerful rocker powered punches.

Various misc house utensils and objects Genos can attach to his arms.

Anti Saitama gear 
Arm attachments created for Genos’s initial spar with Saitama. They can create incinerator blasts more powerful than normal.
Arms mode
A specialized arm modification Genos used when trying to stop a meteor from hitting Z city. Genos can place his core directly into it to increase the power of his incinerator canon.

Hyper sensors
Genos has some passive scanners that allow him to notice active movement or hostile entities in his immediate surroundings.

Search eye
Genos’s eyes have zooming functions, the abilities to see in infrared and can track energy signatures.
Lightning eye
A blinding blast of light from Genos’s eyes that blinds opponents.

A bright flash of light from Genos’s core that can blind opponents.

A rapid blade stabbing attack.

A strong boosting kick attack.

Rocket stomp
A downward stomping attack utilizing boosters.
Jet drive arrow
A rocket-powered kick where Geno’s’s legs have blades on the end.

  • The training cd drama states that Genos would be capable of defeating mosquito girl and the deep sea king with reasonable difficulty.
