In case you were wondering...
One of the biggest points of contention around this fight is Deadpool’s regenerative factor, and whether a ‘ring-out’ victory (I.E an opponent being completely immobilized, through the victor's own skills.) is valid. According to DEATH BATTLE creator, Ben Singer, it is applicable provided the character in question can do it via, “Their own skills and abilities.” Make of that what you will, we’ve all certainly concluded different things from that. But simply know it has been taken into consideration.
Backstory
Deadpool
http://i.imgur.com/7yBIVsy.png?1
Height: 6’2
Weight: 210 lbs
Deadpool's creation in 1991 was less than ideal. He was created by Rob Liefeld to be, for the most part, Marvel’s version of Deathstroke, going as far as having a similar namesake (Wade Wilson, Slade Wilson...Subtle). It was in 1997 with the writing talents of Joe Kelly and Ed McGuinness that the trademark parody, comedy, pseudo-drama Deadpool most people are familiar with came to life. The combination of humor, and often overlooked depth, arguably made him more popular than Deathstroke.
His backstory is fuzzy due to memory loss and his own insanity, but the story goes he had a military father and a mother who died when he was young due to cancer. When Wade was a teen, a friend of his shot his father dead because he wanted to stop their drinking. He sobered up and tried to join the military, but was kicked out for bad behavior. Wade then travelled to Asia and temporarily worked for a crime lord, only to became a part of the Weapon X experiment in Canada. He did this in hopes of curing the cancer he was diagnosed with. Fun fact: Deadpool is Canadian, proving that Trevor isn’t the only Canadian sociopath!
Instead, it made his cancer go into overdrive, Wade’s sanity was left for naught, and he was left for dead. Or so the people experimenting on him thought until his regeneration kicked in, he escaped, and became the superhuman merc with a mouth named, Deadpool (because he defeated the odds) we all know and love. And sometime after that he and Death apparently became lovers…
Because of his memory loss these details may not be the true origin story of Deadpool, but we honestly can’t think of a more perfect one for the guy.

Deathstroke, The Terminator, AKA Slade Wilson, was created in 1980. So any claim that he's a rip off of Deadpool is bogus. He began his career in murder when he was 16 years old and lied about his age to join the U.S Army. After serving a stint in Korea, Slade was later assigned to Camp Washington where he had been promoted to the rank of Major. He soon met Captain Adeline Kane, a female military trainer who was amazed at how skilled Slade was, and how quickly he adapted to modern conventions of warfare.
It was love at first sight for her as she offered to train him privately (giggidy) in guerrilla warfare (not giggidy). In less than a year, he mastered every form of fighting he was presented with and was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel. Six months later, Slade married Adeline and already had a son on the way. He was sent to Vietnam before he was born.
Some time later, Slade volunteered for a medical experiment designed to stimulate his adrenal gland in the hopes of increasing a soldier's ability to resist truth serums. It didn't work. After waking up from a coma, Slade realized he had attained drastically enhanced physical and mental abilities. It wasn’t long after this that he saved a colleague who had helped him in Vietnam, and left the army when he defied orders to save the aforementioned colleague. Thus, he became a mercenary for hire instead. He didn’t tell his wife about this until their son got kidnapped for a ransom, that ransom being the identity of one of Deathstroke’s clients.
His son’s life was at risk, but Slade felt he could save him before anything bad could happen. Because of that, Joseph's throat was slashed and he lost the ability to speak. This caused his wife to want a divorce. And by divorce, we mean Slade’s head. Fortunately for him she only got his right eye, something he has made no secret due to the right side of his mask being completely black. He did this because he felt his abilities were top notch even without his right eye. With a dead wife, and mute son, Slade continued his career as a mercenary for hire, becoming one of the most well-known villains/anti-heroes in the DC universe.
Weapons
Deadpool
http://i.imgur.com/0p0dSG4.png
Deadpool’s primary melee weapons are a set of Twin Katanas, typically forged from adamantium, and he normally has Shurikens, Bolos, a Crossbow, a set of Knives, and Twin Sai to go with them. His firearms consist of 2 handguns of varying types, but they resemble M991 type pistols in Ultimate Marvel VS. Capcom 3 and the Heckler & Koch Mark 23 SOCOM pistols in most other media. Sometimes he will carry heavier firearms such as Twin Shotguns, RPG Rocket Launchers, and what looks like a scoped Heckler & Koch MP5K. Needless to say, other types of firearms guns are available to him, but Deadpool generally prefers his pistols. In terms of explosives and miscellaneous weapons, he’s packing Grenades in both stun and frag form, C4 Plastic Explosives, Landmines, and oddly enough, Beartraps.
Deathstroke
http://i.imgur.com/jTuEYvP.png
Deathstroke’s main weapon is a Broadsword made out of Volatile Promethium. It’s very sharp, sharp enough to easily cut through the steel of a fighter jet, and unlike other characters in the DC universe, he can use the blade without suffering negative effects. Alongside it is an Energy Staff. The material said staff is made of varies, but it’s almost always incredibly durable, and the staff itself can generate powerful energy blasts capable of destroying aircrafts. Other melee weapons Slade normally uses include: Knives, Twin Sai, a Grappling Hook/Grapple Gun (for both restraining targets and getting from point A to point B), and what appear to be 2 Short Swords.
Among the firearms and explosives he uses, Wilson has 4 Handguns, that vary in their make and model, but usually take up the appearance of the Beretta 92FS. The Super Bomb, is a special flash explosive that is SOMEHOW capable of incapacitating the entire Justice League momentarily (if we had to guess, we’d say that was a major instance of plot-shielding). Extra firearms and explosives include: Frag Grenades, a Custom AR-15, 2 MP5Ks, and an M203 Grenade Launcher. Needless to say there are many more firearms, melee weapons, and explosives Deathstroke has access to, with a notable preference for Sniper Rifles due to his excellent aim.
Armor
Deadpool
http://i.imgur.com/k1l4aci.jpg
There isn’t much that suggests Deadpool’s suit provides him any notable protection. Bullets, blades, and blows go through it no differently than they would any other piece of clothing, though Deadpool obviously regenerates from it all. There are however several useful pieces of equipment aside from his suit that he has on-hand. One of them being a Teleportation Device. While valuable in closing and covering distance, the device has been known to malfunction, and in some comics not even Deadpool knows where it will take him. The other 2 are a Magical Satchel (just roll with it) capable of carrying an infinite amount of items and supplies, and a special Holographic Device that can create disguises. The Holographic Device probably won’t be of much use here due to disguises being pointless in this fight, and Deadpool being ill-suited for stealth.
Deathstroke

The armor Slade wears varies from canon to canon. He has worn a Kevlar Chain-link Mesh, as well as armor made of Promethium at different points in time. Both protect him from gunfire, large explosions, and numerous attacks that would prove fatal. Most recently he gained special Nth Metal Armor in New 52. It not only offers him even greater protection, enough to survive being crushed underneath a nuclear submarine, but enhances his already superhuman strength and speed. While Deathstroke’s healing factor isn’t as good as Deadpool’s, it’s fair to say his armor is superior.
Skills & Abilities
Deadpool
http://i.imgur.com/UtjBH48.jpg
With years of experience under his belt Deadpool is a very skilled marksman and assassin, skilled enough to quickly dispatch multiple trained guards with gunfire before any of them can react. While he isn’t obscenely superhuman in strength, he has shown to be capable of easily lifting over 800 lbs. Due to the Weapon X Project he possesses superhuman speed and agility. He is easily capable of overcoming things such as an obstacle course full of laser and missile fire.
He has retained enough of his sanity to learn several different martial arts, languages, and assassination techniques, and his own insanity makes his fighting style incredibly unpredictable, to Taskmaster’s dismay. He’s also been known to borrow a few moves himself, including the Shoryuken from the Street Fighter series. All of it gives him abilities that easily surpass what any ordinary human could do.
Of course his 2 most famous abilities are his awareness of the 4th Wall, and regenerative factor. As far as his 4th Wall knowledge is concerned, he has actually used this as an offensive attack is in his Level 3 Hyper Combo in Ultimate Marvel VS. Capcom 3, when he smacks an opponent with his health bar, and his taunt. The knowledge does give him the potential to do things other characters could not too.
For example, theoretically, if Deadpool had knowledge of the 4th wall, he would have knowledge of our own world, possibly be aware of the upcoming fight and this very prediction blog we’re typing up right now (oh god, this is becoming too meta)! He might start reading them and several DC comics in order to learn more about Deathstroke. However, this possibility is VERY theoretical, and until we see a scene in his own comics/spinoff media where he does something like this, there is no confirming either character has canonical knowledge of their opponent. Even then, it could always be written off as a joke. It still would be a fun thing to play around with in the fight.
Initially his regenerative ability stemmed from the Weapon X experiment, but after Thanos became angry over Deadpool hooking up with Death, he made it so Deadpool was quite literally deathless. This allows him to survive pretty much any physical attack. He can easily regenerate from decapitation, being beaten into a literal puddle, and a nuclear blast. He can regrow severed limbs or vital organs, though how fast depends on how severe the damage is. Which is why sometimes he can fully recover from blowing his own head off, but other times he has to gather his limbs together.
In addition to his broken regeneration, Deadpool is immune to virtually all diseases, powerful forms of mind manipulation/mind reading, and is very resistant to the intoxicating effects of drugs, requiring large doses of them to have an effect on him. Perhaps most impressive of all of Deadpool’s many talents and abilities is the fact that he can...Moonwalk.
Deathstroke

The powers and abilities of Deathstroke seem to be similar to both Pre and Post New 52 so we shall list them. Slade has a unique physiology, which grants him Enhanced Intelligence. The explanation behind this is he is able to use 90% of his brain over the 10% humans normally used (even though that’s a stupid myth). Other perks include: Enhanced reflexes, enhanced speed (able to run over 30 Miles Per Hour and for long distances beyond an Olympic athlete), enhanced reflexes (can casually dodge shotgun and aircraft machinegun fire), and enhanced strength (able to twist steal with his bare hands). His senses have also been greatly improved, 1000 fold according to Deathstroke himself, though this is potentially hyperbole. Even so he can still determine an enemy’s origin just by its scent.
Slade also has a regenerative healing factor. It’s not at the levels of Deadpool, but is good enough allow him to survive being impaled through his chest and getting shot by multiple bullets. This healing factor enhanced his immunity, meaning he can not be affected by harmful foreign substances or illnesses, and a body with decelerated aging.
Opposite to Deadpool’s insanity, Deathstroke is incredibly level-headed, albeit, in a cold, cruel manner, possessing a high degree of intelligence. Because of his experience and enhanced intellect, Deathstroke's mind is virtually a computer built for strategy and problem-solving, one that works at optimal ability even when under stress and fatigue. He is also ingenious in devising solutions against superior aspects of opponents, can observe and exploit, and can calculate distance, speed, and time at rapid speeds.
He is a tactical analyzer, thus a great strategist and tactician. Always calculating his opponents moves before hand. He has been compared to Batman in terms of tactical methods. Even against metahumans he has proven himself capable of taking them down without prep-time. Using his superior problem-solving skills, Deathstroke can work out a battle ahead of time for many possibilities and predict enemy movements and tactics after the battle has engaged by recalling and utilizing memorized mannerisms acquired through past experience on a moment's notice.
He is also an Advanced Hand to Hand Combat Expert. He was one of their best in the military and later trained in various other styles of Martial arts. Those include Boxing, Jujitsu, Karate, and Ninjitsu. His physical prowess is so great that he has defeated Batman in hand to hand combat in Blackest Night: Titans #1.
Like Wade, Slade is a highly trained swordsman. Most of his swordsman feats are in his old 52 form, but his new one should be around this level (plus DEATH BATTLE probably isn’t that picky about canon). In the new 52, he also has knowledge in Demolition, proficient with many different kinds of explosives.
Weaknesses
Deadpool
http://i.imgur.com/hYsbffY.jpg
Deadpool's Mental state is as great a strength as well as a weakness. It makes him unreadable by telepaths and incredibly hard to predict, but also highly unstable and prone to violent outbursts (at least around those who can handle it). Deadpool is also a talker, which means he is not that great in stealth or even hiding his abilities. He is very likely to tell his opponent everything he is capable of.
His healing factor is also another weakness, as it was design to constantly replace his body cells as fast as the cancer killed them. If his cancer was removed, his healing factor would eventually create growths over the body and eventually explode. More recently, Deadpool also lost his regenerative abilities, but we doubt it'll be for long, or that DEATH BATTLE will choose to take away what is one of his most iconic abilities.
Deathstroke
http://i.imgur.com/M7FpxpA.jpg?1
As already mentioned, Deathstroke’s healing factor simply can’t match Deadpool’s, and won’t help regenerate any severed limbs, or more serious injuries, as evidence in the fact that Deathstroke’s right eye remains permanently injured. His armor is durable, but can’t protect him from all attacks, and similar to Batman, many of his more notable accomplishments have required prep-time, or a lot of plot-shielding.
Conclusion
Deadpool
http://s10.postimg.org/3kgs3pncp/heheh.jpg
Not the actual Deadpool, but a good summation of the mindset Deadpool supporters are approaching this fight with.
Advantages
-Regenerative factor is broken as hell
-While neither fighter is exactly restricted in weaponry due to both being walking armories Deadpool’s magic satchel should let him carry more ammo and weapons.
-Despite Deathstroke’s incredible skills in tactical analysis, Deadpool’s unpredictability has boggled Taskmaster, and will make it hard for Slade to see some attacks coming.
-Knowledge of the 4th Wall could provide several unforeseen benefits.
Disadvantages
-Is a blabber-mouth, and almost guaranteed to reveal the limits to his abilities and regenerative power.
-Inferior armor, and several potentially worthless devices such as the teleporter and holographic device.
-Regenerative factor varies. Could regrow limbs one instant. Need to reattach them another.
-Not nearly as intelligent.
-Inferior physical abilities.
-He doesn’t like to share Ryan Reynolds.

Advantages
-Superior physical capabilities.
-Superior armor.
-More strategic.
-More experienced.
-While both characters have similar arsenals, the destructive power of Slade’s Energy Staff should give him more destructive weaponry.
-Has several means of possibly restraining or ringing out Deadpool.
Disadvantages
-Regeneration factor isn’t as good as Deadpool’s.
-Deadpool’s unconventional fighting style will be difficult to predict.
-Can’t hold as much ammo.

In terms of skills and capabilities, I see nothing suggesting that Deadpool is superior to Deathstroke. Slade is as skilled, if not superior, as Wade in terms of using weapons or hand to hand skills. Combine that with his impressive experience, training, superior armor and superior brain power, he can take out Wade Wilson with ease. The former Deadpool writer even highlighted this in Superman/Batman Annual #1.
But the big elephant in the room is Deadpool's regenerative abilities. With those regenerative abilities, Deadpool can't really die. Due to a curse by Thanos or his own will, depends on the writer. If immobilization counts for a victory, I would say Slade would figure out this problem by simply cutting off Deadpool's head (followed by each limb when he sees Deadpool can move the body without the head). Then split each piece very far apart, enough to make reattaching them take a frikkin long time.
If immobilization does not count, then this is a match Deadpool can not lose.
LousyTactician
If it means anything, if someone asked me, “Who do you think is more skilled in firearms?” I would answer, Deathstroke. If someone asked me, “Who do you think is more tactical” I would answer Deathstroke. If someone asked me, “Who do you think is stronger and faster?” I would answer Deathstroke. If someone asked me, “Who do you think has the superior armor?” I would once again answer, Deathstroke, at least if you ignore Deadpool’s regeneration. Granted, several of these advantages he doesn’t exactly take by a landslide (Deadpool’s skills should be within his ballpark), but I still think they’re all significant enough to merit mentioning.
Not only that, but Deathstroke has more experience under his belt in most canons, having both existed longer, and begun his career in murder 2 years earlier than Deadpool in his original story. Some people have argued the unpredictable side of Deadpool would give him the edge in skill. I think it will have an impact on the fight, but I still see it as the equivalent of comparing a gifted class-clown to a genius model student. Sure, you could argue the class-clown has randomness on his side, but in the end we know who among the 2 has made more practical use of the abilities they’ve been given. Of course, the big difference here is the class-clown in question can see magical speech bubbles, and regenerate from dismemberment, being beaten to bloody pulp, and pretty much any attack that isn’t powered by a very high level of reality manipulation.
Because of Deadpool’s 4th Wall knowledge, an assortment of theories have spawned over how it will affect the fight, but I honestly don’t think any of them will impact this match. One is that Deadpool could gain what would otherwise be outside knowledge of Deathstroke since, knowing of our real world, he would know of this DEATH BATTLE ahead of time. But as we said in his skills & abilities section, this is highly speculative and there’s no evidence in any comics, or spin-off media, showing he has done this. Plus, let’s be honest, if Deadpool really knew about our world, he probably wouldn’t spend any time reading/watching stuff made by a bunch of nerds like us.
The next theory states that because Deadpool is aware that he is a fictional character, he would realize the truth behind his existence. In the process he would realize that he is a parody of Deathstroke, and thus not be able to beat him because of the general "rule" in comics that the original is always better. (Example: Hulk always beats Abomination, Spider-Man always beats Venom and Thor will always prevail over Beta-Ray Bill) While an interesting idea, I don’t think it holds water. Deadpool’s ‘screw the rules’ attitude would likely make him disregard this. Every instance where he breaks the 4th wall, and shows he has knowledge fictional characters don’t conventionally have is proof in and of itself that he has little regard for fictional tropes. I think the same applies to the idea of Deadpool losing/winning for the sake of following ‘DEATH BATTLE trends’. Really, either character losing due to some sort of technicality involving the 4th Wall would feel like a major cop-out, and something that should not be done.
Deadpool’s regeneration ability on the other hand is what really throws a monkey wrench at this fight. Since Deadpool is quite literally deathless, there are no ways Deathstroke can kill him conventionally. This leaves him with one option, victory by ring-out. At least that’s the argument I’ve seen from most Deathstroke supporters. However, of all the discussions I read I didn’t see a single supporter ever explained HOW he would ring-out Deadpool. Thankfully, AkumaTH and several others have provided their own theories. The most straightforward one simply being slicing off all of Deadpool’s limbs and separating them from one another so reattaching them would take ages to do.
This idea is simplistic, but it is a valid one, and I think it would be a discredit to Deathstroke’s intelligence to say he wouldn’t be able to think up something like this quickly. Another possibility I thought of during this research is that Deathstroke could use his grappling hook or grapple gun to subdue and immobilize Deadpool. The only problem is I haven’t found any comics or scans of comics that prove Deathstroke’s grappling hook can subdue meta-humans, but looking at all the meta-humans he has fought I’m certain there exists some proof that it can restrain Deadpool whose strength feats aren’t exactly obscenely good. If we want to go 1 step further Deathstroke could always dig a hole with his bare hands or weaponry, and bury Deadpool 6 feet under once he has him restrained.
Thus, the only questions that remains is, would Deathstroke last long enough to figure out that Deadpool won’t be going down, and that a ring-out is the only option? I think yes. Keep in mind that while nothing Deathstroke does will put Deadpool down permanently, Wade will be significantly crippled if he loses a limb. For example, let’s say Deathstroke cut off one of Deadpool's legs. If this happened Wade would have to either hop or crawl to that leg, and properly reattach it. Obviously Deathstroke wouldn't give him the opportunity to do this, meaning that one clean hit could easily be enough for Deathstroke to either restrain the rest of Deadpool with the grappling hook, or separate the rest of his body. All of this is ignoring Wade’s blabbermouth tendencies, which should help Slade realize even more quickly how potent his opponent’s regenerative abilities are, and create a plan to deal with it.
I’m fairly sure at least one of the two methods proposed would count as a way for Deathstroke to ring-out Deadpool while sticking to his ‘natural skills & abilities’. Ultimately, I side with Deathstroke as the victor, assuming at least one of these ring-out theories is applicable.
MaxofFewTrades
As far as I am concerned, Deadpool and Deathstroke are roughly even in terms of combat ability. Deathstroke is better at strategizing, but Deadpool is impossible to predict making this match very close in my opinion.
However this is my logic on the matter, Deathstroke is a powerful mortal man fighting a guy who’s almost as powerful as he is and can heal from literally any wound humanly possible. As smart and powerful as Deathstroke is he will need to accomplish too much in this fight in order to win. First he needs to understand the limits of Deapools abilities while fighting him off, then he needs to think of a way to permanently incapacitate him while fighting him off, AND THEN he needs to put that plan into action without any part of it failing all while fighting Deadpool off.
What’s the most likely scenario? Deathstroke being able to accomplish all of this without fail while fighting somebody close to his equal, or Deadpool managing to chop Deathstrokes arm off at some point severally handicapping him? Deadpool is a clown no doubt, but he is VERY dangerous and taking him lightly is asking to be killed.
So while Deathstroke needs to find a way to keep Deadpool away from him forever, Deadpool only needs to chop Deathstrokes head off to win, and I personally think Deadpool has the skills needed to pull that off.
I predict Deadpool wins.
Ultraguy
I’ll probably start off by saying that I think that people tend to underestimate Deadpool to some degree. I think his regen ability is probably a bit faster than most people give it credit for and I think everyone overplays his more wacky tendencies to the point where they let that overshadow his genuine combat skill.
That being said this is still a pretty close match regardless.
I’ve spoken to a few other G1s on the subject and we’ve agreed it’s more or less a fight where one character outranks his opponent in almost all traditional fighting categories (speed, strength, durability, ETC), but the opponent he’s fighting is virtually impossible to kill outright outright due to regeneration hax. Because of this the fight boils down to a race against the clock. Deathstroke NEEDS to find a way to immobilize or “ring out” Deadpool early on, as the longer the fight drags on, the better the chance Deadpool will have in running him ragged in a battle of endurance.
So can Deathstroke last long enough to come up with a plan to ring out Deadpool? I would probably say yes. Deathstroke himself can think a lot faster than a normal human and has shown intelligence and tactical abilities on-par with batman, so him coming up with some kinda plan to put Wade down is fairly believable. He also has much better armor than Deadpool and a decent (though not as great as Deadpool’s) healing factor. So I think he’ll be able to take quite the beating before his stamina runs dry. Granted you could argue Deadpool could Fuck up any plans he creates with his unpredictability, or possibly just frustrate Deathstroke into making mistakes with his annoying demeanor. However, unless Death Battle gives Deadpool what would otherwise be outside knowledge about Deathstroke though his 4th wall ability, I don’t think he has what it takes to win this.

Hold it right there! I'm not sure who these 'researchers' are to have the balls to say this Slade guy can best me, but it ain't happenin! I mean, one of them (I think he called himself ‘Shitty Strategist’ or something) predicted I wouldn't waste my time reading or watching crap made by a bunch of nerds like them! Well, that guy isn’t a fortune teller because guess what!? I just did!...Not too sure if I should feel happy or sad about that.
But anyway, after reading the indisputable bias (I'm told people like to throw that word around in excess here) these numbskull Deathstroke supporters are spouting, I've come here to side with the TRULY logical people and show my support for...Well, me! I have this fight in the bag! I mean, I'm ME! I got the coolness, the wackiness, and a handsome bod that can woe Death her-er-itself!
And what do they mean Deathstroke isn't a rip-off of me?! The guns, the fancy blades, the outfit. The dude's totally copying my act! The guy’s nothin’ more than a mortal, grouchy version of me! I’m funnier, I have more fanboys, more edginess, and now that I’ve read all of his comics (which are woefully inferior to mine) I know every move Slady (HA! That sounds like lady!) is going to be making!...Er, okay I didn’t read EVERY comic starring Slady since I think most of New 52 kind of sucks, but I have this fight!
After all, I took down the entire Marvel Universe in that one totally valid and canon comic!...Well, okay, an alternate universe version of me did that, but it still counts! Has Deathstroke solo’d the entire DC Universe? Didn’t think so! To conclude, I am awesome, Deathstroke sucks, and I will definitely win this!
